They could still be in the DB, you're right. They are possibly in some earlier db dumps anyone of us made. It's more important to figure out whats really happening, things don't just disappear without a trace, there should be logs of things not re-importing or alike. I cba now though, and maybe not until a rewrite. I'd ask sujoy or levi240.

A.D. Police Files: I'm talking about the 3 OVAs, not the series. If you like cyberpunk, it's an essential piece, especially the 3rd OVA.

BUBBLEGUM CRISIS: One of the best cyberpunk classics. THORA Blu-ray is your best option.

Have you picked anything up this season? I've only really got my eye on Tytania, Casshern and Index. The Chaos Head anime looks shit compared to the game and Toradora... *shudder*.

I'm going to try Casshern and new "Nodame Contable: Paris" seems good. Oh yeah, Kurozuka seemed even more interesting, from first episode.

Hiroshi Harada - Midori (sick and very disturbing classic)
Shuhei Morita - Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek (short, very atmospheric)
Michael Arias - Tekon kinkurîto (first major anime directed by a non-japanese)

and the best of the best, rivaling akira for my favourite anime movie of all time:
Masaaki Yuasa - Mind Game (2004)

I can only recommend Darker Than Black and Witch Hunter Robin and Mnemosyne for the same general feeling.
Some other good scifi series are PlanetES, Trigun. But the things in your list are my favorite, if there was anything more like it, id have it in the To Watch list :)

I don't usually watch anime but I did really like a few series (It seems like the best are always ending after one or two season)

The stuff that transformed me into a real anime addict for 2 straight days :

- Death Note
- Attacks on Titans

On the comedy side, but not as addicting :
- Gintama was pretty good
- Im currently watching One Piece, there is some overextend which I don't really like and the humour is a little bit more childish, however overall it is still decent.

All the other anime that I have watched are not worth noting IMO, but then again, it's not like I tried all of them.

man the plot twist where the main protagonist turns in to a giant is unbelievably moronic. stopped watching 1-2 eps after that, just couldn't digest it.

i have no actual reason. it just doesn't sit well with me. when i saw that scene i went from "this is such a cool anime" to "this is utter moronic bullshit" and stopped watching shortly after.

If you accept the giants, you have to accept their magical properties, and this regeneration/reincarnation is one of those properties. It makes sense in that universe, it was just a surprise plot twist.

yeah well, like i said, that part of humans reincarnating as giants just doesn't sit well with me. can't do anything about it. totally killed the series for me.

on the other hand, Kingdom is a nice anime, but I suspect it will have at least 1 more season :<

The series is shounen with much less impressive art, much less drama / tragedy and with some comedy. While it's not bad in itself, it's nothing like the OVAs.

Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuioku-hen is a truly great SEINEN swordfight / drama / tragedy / violence show with beautiful character art, animation and backgrounds.

Comparing it to Naruto or other "neverending" shounen crap is really a disgrace. ; )

I have seen all of Kenshin stuff, and after enough, I realized how extremely formulaic it is. Unfortunately, it is only slightly more complicated than Naruto/DBZ/*. Half of the reason I saw all of it is because I wanted to see if they would deviate from this, as in, if maybe I couldn't predict every event, and almost every line...
And the other half of the reason, is because the formula kind of works :(

Well, there are better shows, BUT you have to make differentation between genres. If you look at seinen swordfight, it's one of the best.

tbh, kenshin clocks around 100 eps, and it does have a shitload of fillers. it's good anime but nothing special.

what really did it for me kenshin-wise was the trust & betrayal ova. i'm willing to go so far to call it top5 anime i've ever watched.

yeah i was refering with shitload of fillers as in last season. if kenshin stopped after shishio battle it'd be great. also, i watched ova trust& betrayal before the series so i didn't quite like the pacifist that kenshin has become.

Best anime of 2007 is easily Kodomo no Jikan.

Well, it's the best anime of all time for that matter.

I only read battle angel alita as manga and liked it, the film wasnt that bad ... ghost in the shell and akira werent bad neither ... but these films are not really that good, for being probably the most prominent anime films ...
dunno, there are so many possibilities in anime, why cant they come up with something like inception or matrix ... and these anime are often still a bit too childish for my taste
