Cherry Clears are great for gaming actually, just not many boards with them. The Deck Legend Tactile would be about the only one I could recommend (and they have backlighting as well which is a nice touch).

Although many people find them just fine for gaming, some don't like the fact that the release point is above the actuation point. This can cause some trouble with double-tapping if you don't normally release the key completely.

Personally I have the SteelSeries 6GV2, but after over a month of use I still am entirely used to it, because 1) the keys require quite some force to press them down 2)

The Razer BlackWiddow is for my taste too Razer like, but I might try it just because of the blue switches (and because it is significantly cheaper than the by me preferred Filco keyboards)

I got a Steelseries 7G which I guess is pretty much the same as 6Gv2 and it's not that loud and I think it's great to type on. Not just dedicated for gaming.

No force at all. You've got to try it out really. I swear by it now that I've used one.

Used to use a rubber dome Logitech (actually quite a popular model that most people have used) and was fine with it. One day I just thought fuck it I'll treat myself, bought a 7G and haven't looked back since. It's kind of mechanical but you can feather touch it and it'll register (but not enough that you can miss-hit keys) or you can smash them down in a rage if you really want :P

I was thinking about it actually. I have two 7G keyboards. One brand-new completely boxed. Got it free as a thing from Steelseries but never used it. Only reason I haven't sold it since I got it (which was a while back) was because I can't help but keep it under the thought "well, if the one I use now breaks I can use that" (long story short, I had to go without my 7G a while back and back to a rubber dome and it was horrible) but I doubt this one will break because it's still going strong after a year odd.

Ye, im looking at going mechanical because iv started actually using my PC for work now for college :), mainly been looking at brown switches because theirs quiet and suppose to be the best for typing.
