Following the success of the last PLAY QuakeLive Duel tournament and great experience with it, we have decided to host the Duel tournament again. We still have unpaid winners thats true, nothing to hide, but the problem is the sponsor. That's why we are sending the money via PayPal from now and on.

We did not forget about unpaid people, just the process is taking its time.

This might be the only time I agree with you here, it's pretty frowned upon to host another tournament without the prizes from previous cups being paid, and roychez, if you're reading it, you are the cup hosters, it's your responsibility to have reliable sponsers.

I'm not the cup host o_O I actually only help out with PLAY when they need me. Sponsors are done by the Fnatic management, not the admins or who ever.

It seems to me that everything from that "interview" boils down to the external software, which creates an easy interface to set things up. With a good router and proper QoS you should be able to do as good as that.

all i'm saying is that maybe the old maps are not BAD cause they're not balanced. rather people hating them today cause they are overplayed.

quake3 was basically t4 dm6 ztn for years and years.

dm6 - linear, simple, first spawn decides 80% of the game, impossible to regain control vs good aimer, whine whine

ztn - too many armors, 2 teleports, +back heaven whine whine

t4 - nobrain map, all rail, whine whine

i don't remember people having the same attitude towards them in 2k4

Yeah they didn't, mainly because ppl didn't have those ridiculous accuracies in 2004 and might not have figured out the best way to play a map given those stats. But dm6 got more and more bleh after 2005 (change to cpma, coincidence?:F).

The !pro-q3dm6cq3 item layout in cpma looks already a ton better imho and should be tried.

About ztn/dm13/t4, imho the ppl that whine about them nowadays already did the same thing back then, i remember plenty of +back whine about ztn and plenty of rail only whine for t4. :)

on the other hand, i understand ql t4 whine, cause rails still hit anywhere close to enemymodel, but it wasn't like that before. there was much more to it than rail.

and i hope you're not implying that cpmavq3 killed the balance of quake cause xerp is just placebo and does nothing cause people would shoot 10% more lg due to just finally learning the game in 2005!!11!1

QL didn't really bring balance to it, making the weapons weaker made control on dm6 even stronger imho.
On t4, yeah the netcode produces a ton of bs shots but with SG being a lot stronger (or at least was until the last update...) / rockets being faster and rail only doing 80 dmg, t4 got a lot better than it was in q3 imho and isn't all that rail heavy at all.

I don't care what made ppl hit more %, im just saying they did :P

i don't get it.

First you say dm6 was broken after people got very good at aiming, thus I take it delivered more damage per second with the vq3 weapons.
But you are also saying that lowering the weapon damage in QL hurts the gameplay.

Seems like a contradiction to me.

shards are replaced by 2 small health bubbles and a green armor and there is a second green armor at upper SG at the door (so you can see it from the middle ground, like when you come up the lg stairs) and a few other minor changes

I'm mostly very critical against any changes at all, but I like the idea of that extra armor.

A green armor at upper SG seems pretty nice, since it will help with comebacks.
If the one in control controls ra&ya he would have to drop down to a lower level, giving up his high ground.
If not it's extra armor for the guy that's hunted <3

would keep the shards at lg though.

Chess has a couple dozen spectators at most, and football is played with hundreds of different people in varying situations. Quake has 17 players on dm6, dm6, and dm6.

2. Why should I have to work my ass off and feel like a fool and search and know people like crv from WM that I have no clue of who he is. I joined and played a tournament. Got into the money and asked you nicely a few times and also waited some months now without reply, or any kind of message that the money will be paid out. You call me unprofessional? I'm beeing quite nice and just asking a simple question. When do you expect to pay the money? It does not have to be today or tomorrow, just a answer was all I was looking for.

It should be you or whoever is the admin/organisor of this tournament that informs the players, not the other way around.

Hehe, there was some cup hosted by crossfire.nu and QPad, with QuadV support, iirc i won 25e but never received them (it was 1,5 year ago :>). Well, it's not much so I didn't bother asking for those money (although guy who beated me in the final won like 75e and hasn't received them as well, as far as I know ;)

theye were supposed to play dm13 in 1/4finals but they played ztn which is supposed to be played in semis..so after like 5mins it was decided to switch the map (avek was losing ztn anyway)
