why couldn't you add some new maps?
I'm sure there's some good hidden unplayed maps somewhere in the universe.

im always up for doing map test on pickup servers, however so far no one has succeeded providing a proper ctf map without obvious faults..

The maps we play in ctf were made in 2001(?) for threewave and 95% of them are too open, have too many weapons and too optimal item placement. They just don't work in today's much improved aim ctf games.

But the new maps are even worse. A year ago we tested literally +250 maps that were labelled "ctf maps". Most of them were utterly crap and could be dismissed instantly. There were a few maps with limited potential, but...

I don't know why it is so difficult to make a good ctf map. Perhaps there are simply too many things to consider, and the lack of "forced movement" (as in, everyone forced to go to quad etc) makes it easy to accidentally make an overpowered location.

It might be an idea to make a good ntf map first, since you only have to think about the actual map layout, and then add items afterwards.

It would be really awesome if someone made proper ctf maps to be included in cpma map pack, since the current maps in the pack range from sort of playable to utter crap "fun" maps.

there's a few things that a good ctf map need imo.

Identical bases (red / blue)
good flow
good intercept spots
not to complex
good quadarea
and good itemplacement (just enough armor for defs, enough armor for atts to grab. balanced weaponplacements aswell)

you do realize that aircontrol is a mapbreaking concept that is especially destructive with CTF?

bah cgx was full all fluid on that map, but he was too much a rager. Plus, anyway this map is all attack, even with pejn and bomba in def u cant win without a good attack.
