This is a Quake 4 movie containing frags from the top 5 players during season 1 from the SNL 2006. I tried to get a clean look to match the website of SNL, so hope you enjoy it! ;D

Interesting approach about the editing... the music was kept very much at the background and this stressed the ingame sound even more. it was probably a bit too much slowmo at some times. and many frags weren't impressive enough to be shown in a movie *imo*

Good frags for the most. The first part of frags with the frist audiotrack was very nice. The movie itself was a bit choppy and too short, but other than that, very nice.

Just gotta say, wow

the atmosphere in the first half was STUNNING, very very well done, the combination of dark maps, superb quality and weaponshow with such large models really just made it for me.

The second half was a bit, err..

as people said, the frags were poor, after a few weeks of playing I'm already making the same stuff on a daily basis (ofc vs much worse players, I know :P). - a few nice ones in there idd, but ye... could be better I'm sure.

Keep up the good work mate, it looks really good already! =)

the 1st part (with that soundtrack) was good. there was some lack of flow sometime, but was very nice, like atmpsphere.
the 2nd part (with that hardrock music) i didnt like it. it was just another movie with the classica hard rock music.... useless & boring.

complaining about the music in a frag movie is a faux pas.. unless it has been used countless of times in other movies.

btw it wasn't "classica hard rock music", it's more like emo/post-hardcore/metalcore.. and yeah it sucks ass from a straw, but you don't see me complaining.. oh wait

I fully agree. It was a kind of a "saving private ryan" moment for me. First part was really really impressive (music, tension, feeling) but the rest (when the real "music" started) felt more like standard stuff. Keep it going though, this will be nice ^^

Nice to hear most enjoyed the first part, I tried to be a little more creative with the soundtrack and syncing there!

Next movie I will try to find same flow throu whole movie instead ;D
(Not specially this flow but maybe avoid the two part flow)

next time if you wanna make a wide screen movie select the correct aspect ratio in the game :/
and try to be more dynamic with the slow-motion, it can be good if you apply it at the right moments

He is probably trying different things. I do agree that the first part is much much better. The atmosphere for someone who does not know the game is very very good, you focus on the tension and then the action comes up.

Do your work more like the first part than the second, or find something else to keep the pace of the movie higher.

I loved the first half like everyone else, but the second part really turned me off.

Being that the movie was short, you should of finished with the first half theme, that would of been ace.

One problem with high skilled players playing in an important match, they dont take any risks because they want to win. So sometimes its hard to find stunning shots but maybe more intelligent frags. But I will keep it in mind for next project!! ;D

Often longer sequences work good then, atleast that's how I experience it, show like 30 or 1 minute from a match then.

showing a few conversions, like you had with the placebo sequence.. or was that just two rails in a row, already forgot, anyway, stuff like that was nice.
Yoiu also had another placebo clip where he rails two nice rails the player respawns and frags him, was a nice clip even though he died :)

I was expecting a montage of the best clips from John Belushi, Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, Mike Myers, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Rock, etc. but instead I get a frag movie from Quake 4?

First half was nice, agreed. Second half weren't that great, also agreed.

Personally I want to see a crosshair, all the zooming is worthless without a crosshair. ;)

It would be nice to have a bit higher fov aswell.

Nice first effort though, keep it up. :)

Yeah not doubt the first half was more absorbing (from a quake and edgy play perspective) - perhaps longer clips of the frags would help to draw out the tension ?

Second half was like a different movie and was more in keeping with the hardrock and frags ethos, which was not a bad thing given your taste in music (seen them at leeds uni, and cannot get enough of that album)

more of either would suit me :D - good job

Nice effects and so on but the frags wasen't all that overwelming.. But a nice production if you don't look at the frags as they are some pretty easy rails and one zoom here and there. All and all it was a good flick.
