When its done.

goddamn you were helpful!

i asked sujoy the same some time ago.

here's his answer:

Solicitors holding everything up. I've not posted any updates because I want to get a 100% confirmed opening date before I say anything more.

There's a lot of new material but once the Solicitors stop bickering I'll do a new big update.

Currently looking at an opening date in April 2007 but the project has gotten quite a lot bigger and more expensive.

bet they are holding it up on purpose, to suck more money out...

you'll see it first on the front page of esreality when it does

I will always post news as soon as it arrives!

Anyway since you're asking, the lease took a long time to agree on. However I just signed it and sent it back last week, so we should get the deal closed this week coming and building will begin. With the extra time we've increased the size of the project considerably. It's now a $3 million build for just Birmingham, with London planned to be bigger once we find the right property.

The build will take 12 weeks, so looking to open in April assuming there are no more holdups.

do you rent out for birthday parties?

Will be rentable for anything from bootcamps to people wanting to run their own tournaments. We're still working out the pricing but should be very reasonable.

.

TBH I think gamers are the worst people to hire. They're just interested in playing games :).

We'll start interviewing as soon as we get the lease back from Virgin. Should be soon.

.

The staff will be trained for that stuff!

.

Pretty much all the gamers I've ever hired at my gaming centres have been the worst employees. Not entirely sure why. I guess they are too chummy with the customers and it stops them getting their work done.

.

Pretty much. Seems to take a gamer to fuck it up :)

Gamer: "Can u teach me how to strafe jump??"
Employee: "What is strafe jumping? I dont play games i just work here."

so they did employ dird

You don't go to gaming centre staff to teach you to strafe jump!

We're actually going to have classes set up for certain games at different levels - induction for first timers and more expert stuff as we can do it.

However I would still never expect gaming centre staff to know really advances stuff about games. It wouldn't make sense.

Dird still not be able to help in that aspect

thats a bit of generalisation there!! crikey

Princess please?

I got 20 bucks says if I looked at your cv it would show me you done nothing but play games and flicked yourself off to trisha more times than I had a Big Mac & fries.

Sujoy's right. At least within these demographics.

lol

Hi my name is Flash and I work at Omega Sektor Birmingham.
To let anyone who reads this know the center is now thriving especially at the weekends. We have run several of our own events as well as hosting events for CGS and Kode5.
We are currently running an offer for unlimited game play. The offer is 20 pounds for 30 days unlimited game play. this is a total bargain and way under a pound a day as much gaming as you can manage.

Hope to see people in soon
