nice! c58 used to be my goto site for demos (then stole them and uploaded them here)

And Cyberfight fell next day after I did it :)

btw, yesterday I downloaded all demos from http://demos.igmdb.org
It is a 64 938 files in 767 folders and... 89.0 GB...

Next step - create automatic unarchiver, parser and saver to some database maybe...

after the end of asus cups nobody looks after him, and nobody knows why and how long the site will be off, and it happens more and more often. thats why I made this script.

You saved the day!

I don't want to be a naysayer, but their site is easy to download. (albeit without producing your fancy json info files, or your elaborate, flexible code.)
Their downloads are php numeric.

then load that html in firefox and download with downthemall. piece of cake. Other sites are much harder.

I hate to admit that I've done the same with ESR as well, of course... which was a bit harder, but still coding child's play. Although, it isn't particularly polite in terms of bandwidth.

Of course, thanks for the demos and your hard work. It is clearly appreciated. And in light of them being down, it is easy to see the worth of your post.

Would be cool if we could have backwards compatibility with any Quake 3 version with QL to see the demos. It's a pain in the ass having to deal with seismovision and all that ancient stuff.

Has anyone managed to save the old Quake4 demos to? It will be a shame if those where to be lost. Or are they already uploaded to http://demos.igmdb.org ?

Can you imagine trying to get q4 demos to work in a couple of years time, trying to remember all the mods, maps etc to get it to play.

The game showed me in the console, what files I needed to play the demos back. I also searched a bit on the internet and managed to play back the demos from that final.

I'm only saying that it will be a shame to loose all of those old demos, even if a very small minority will watch them :)

The quake3 download always gets cancelled. My friend also cannot save it. We're both on different isp's and have more than enough hdd space for them :/ Could someone re-up to another host possibly?

Hum I could do it, but 9GB is a lot for my connection...

btw, there about 38 thousands unnecessary files.
http://demos.igmdb.org/ChallengeTV/demos/view/ contains html-pages with comments, but related demos from http://demos.igmdb.org/ChallengeTV/demos/download/ are not available.

If you want to save the comments, they should be extracted to another format, beacause now it is ~1GB of excessive code.
