The Intel Extreme Masters World Championship has experienced delays in the schedule due to technical difficulties with the Quake Live LAN server. The remaining Group A matches are moved to Thursday and will be finished after the Group B matches.

The players have been experiencing high pings (50+) on the LAN servers. The ESL IT staff have found no problems with the network (the server was also connected directly into the switch the Quake Live section was on, which did not help). There also seems to be nothing wrong with the server software that would cause this problem.

The best four players from each division play a bo5 SE Playoff.

Almost a year after it disappeared, against All authority is proud to announce the re-opening of its Counter-Strike 1.6 (© VALVe) section as well as the arrival of a new partner: ASUS with it's Republic of Gamers.

The ex-eSport-Eu players and their manager are now part of *aAa* - the most talked about french Counter-Strike team in the past couple of years - who will by the way celebrate it's 10th birthday in 2010. Asus, high-end and innovating gaming computer manufacturer through it's Republic of Gamers products, renews it's confidence to the ex-eSport-Eu team by helping with the transition to their new team: aAa. It's been a while since id Software released the latest and very important update for Quake Live which included changes of the hitboxes and the damage output of the LightningGun. Enough reasons for Fragster.de to sit down and talk with a few top players to catch some opinions about the new patch. After weeks of trying I was finally able to track down and interview the Quake legend that is Anton "Cooller" Singov. During the interview he gives his thoughts on the years passed as well as QuakeLive. Here's a snippet:

What do you think about this game ?
Does it requiere skill to be good or is it another random newbie-friendly action RPG ?
Teamplay > skill ?
Or do you need some real keyboard/mouse's skills to be a skilled player ?
Isn't it only about experience & items/Heroes knowledge ?
Is the game really balanced with its 5363736 items & Heroes ?

I'm asking cuz i'm really noob at this game, and I think that it looks pretty good, I mean, the gfx, the atmosphere, the sounds, the battle.net like system, the number of players etc...
I wasn't really a fan of DotA, but when I discovered HoN, I was surprised in a good way.
I'll probably play this game until starcraft 2 release, but I'm afraid of the fact that it could be just another 12-years-old-casual-kid-game... I think that I personally enjoy the concept of Teamplay & "brain", but I find it pretty useless when you don't need some real abilities to be considered skilled, I mean, for example, in a game like starcraft or let's say, quake, you need both skill & "brain" to win. Especially in starcraft, when you're better than you opponent, you simply destroy him... There's no random factor or others newbie-friendly aspects that can be FUCKING frustrating, especially when you have the feeling that you could do everything
way faster if the game allowed you to do so (if you were not limited by the game).
