The main intention of this film is to show how gaming could be presented as a viable spectator sport. Consider this film a pilot TV show for what we could see in the future.

This film features a match between the English FourKings CS team & the French armaTeam. The event was held from the 5th-7th of December at Landed Lan 5. Cryus Malekani (aka proZaC) was flown in by Intel to present the show.

The film features:
  • Pre-game interviews with both teams by prozac.
  • A dust2 map overview by prozac.
  • A pre-match tactical analysis by 4Kings of dust2.
  • A post-match section where Xenon explains a CT pistol round.
  • An exclusive feature on the new game "Call of Duty"
  • Interviews with TSN|Coldshot & David Mitchell from Intel.
  • Over 6 minutes of shoutcasted real-time footage from the dust2 game.
For additional information of the film check out this interview or visit #igproductions on Quakenet.

Running time: 24minutes. Filesize: 185MB. Format: WMV.

The main purpose of this documentary is to ask whether we will ever see gaming become a mainstream spectator sport.

The film features the Four Kings Wolfenstein squad as they compete at Quakecon 2003. We follow the team as they progress through the event & talk exclusively with them about tactics before their games.

Featuring interviews with:
  • John Romero
  • Sujoy Roy (iGamesUK)
  • Paul 'Locki' Wedgwood (Splash Damage)
  • David Mitchell (Intel UK)
  • Toby Aldridge (4K^Zommy)
    & many other 4K players.
This is the sequel to my original documentary which focused on the growth of gaming as a sociable hobby & received over 50,000 downloads worldwide.

I'm hoping a UK based production company watches this film & chooses to make a professional documentary about competitive gaming. If you know anyone who may be interested in this please email me.

Running time: 17minutes 47seconds. Filesize : 157MB. Format: WMV.
Having problems watching the film? You need to upgrade to Windows Media Player 9.

This is no ordinary frag movie. This is possibly one of the most visually stunning works of film art that gaming has ever seen.

The movie is a 21 minute epic of 4K.RTCW ingame action as they play against such clans as Infensus, Ocrana & GMPO during Quakecon & numerous other competitions.

Produced by one/jrb from Shaolin Productions (#shaolinproductions Qnet) the movie features many unseen effects, camera angles, and features not seen in RTCW gaming movies before. Previous hits made by jrb include Never Say Never & The 4Kings Trailer.

It's quite a whopper at 596mb but like a Guiness.. good things come to those who?

After 3 weeks post-production "ESReality Uncut @ the ESWC" is now ready for download. The 22 minute Electronic Sports World Cup film contains in-depth interviews with the following players:

   United States of America Fatal1ty
   United States of America ZeRo4
Sweden [QPO]proZaC (including his stage concert)
   Sweden zulg[f]

The film also features Poland CarMac (as your host), Spain SK|aNouC, United Kingdom 4K^Harriman, Norway Team9|XeqtR, United States of America zEx|shaGuar & numerous others from the Q3, UT & CS scene.

The film was created in the interests of gamers but also to prove that gaming can make an entertaining spectator sport. I hope potential sponsors can watch this film & realise how far pro-gaming has come.

This is my second gamer film since creating "Modern Day Gamer" & my new production company "igproductions" (#igproductions on Quakenet) is currently looking for sponsorship to film at more events in the future.

It's encoded using DivX 5.05, so to watch I recommend downloading: DivX 5.0.5 (PC) | DivX 5.0.7 (Mac)

The main purpose of this documentary is to address the main pre-conceptions people have about gamers, ie: is it really anti-social? is it only for geeks? is it a non-productive use of time?

If you would like to get in contact with me regarding this film or possible future projects please contact me. Im free all Summer & looking for work experience etc...

gaming addiction... your thoughts (59 comments)
Posted by simonb @ 03:26 CDT, 16 May 2003 - iMsg
Hi guys,

Im doing an art project on game addiction - the end result will be a film documenting players at a 3 day LAN (including me).

Was wondering if u guys could help send me some thoughts on this issue.

Do u feel addicted to gaming? Have u ever tried to quit?

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

I ask cos I'm looking to add a series of quotes from this thread to the film. When its done I'll upload it to esr.

I'm not focusing on any games in particular, but so far ive looked into rpg games like EverQuest. One site of particular interest to me is http://www.nickyee.com/eqt/

thanks in advance
