KINZU MOD - KINZUYSSUS (2 comments)

Hi,

I made a kinzu mod, i coupled a kinzu squeletal with an Abyssus PCB (not 2014 version, not sure if Abyssus 2014 PCB would fit, if you have picture of it pls send it to me).

The original kinzu PCB is in two parts, the scrool wheel and the buttons on one PCB and the sensor on another.

So i had two ideas :

1 - i find a mouse featuring everyting on one PCB (wheel, button and sensor) fitting the entire shell of the mouse which is VERY unlikely, especialy the buttons would not meet the shell at the pressur points.

or 2 : i find a mouse featuring double PCB and i keep the sensor part and fix it to the kinzu button and wheel part. So far i made a list of mouse featuring dual PCB but i do not know for sure if they are compatible.

To my surprise the Abyssus is a mono PCB mouse and the PCB fit almost EXACTLY the dual PCB of the kinzu sensor position and scroll wheel and buttons are almost to the milimeter at the right place, so i decided to try and mod it!

It works perfectly.

PS : i would like to compile a listing of mice PCB. With one side mouse with mono PCB and one side with mouse with dual PCB. I already have quite a few mice, i will put this in this thread if it's ok.

So i was ready some hardware news as i do everyday i have half a dozen of hardware websites that i visit daily out of boredom (they are all pretending to be real journalism but it's all publicity by the way, same for video game review websites). So yeah i was wandering around bored as fuck of the non evolution of the hardware and then i spoted this : http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/acer-xg270hu...esync.html

So the monitor is 2560x1440p and is runing at 144Hz. And there is a bunch others coming : http://lmgtfy.com/?q=2560x1440+144+Hz

They are all using DVI-D which means our 1920x1080p 144Hz monitors we already have could already run higher, like 160 or 170Hz? Maybe much more? 200+Hz? What are the limits? i remember on CRT we could calculate the max refresh the monitor could output.

I found a few uninterresting stuff googling with the keywords : 1080 170hz. One was reaching 170Hz with nvinspector software.

I have a BenQ XL2411T so i figured i could go higher than 144Hz maybe with some nerds helping out.

Hi,

So i have to upgrade from my very old OS, i want to buy windows 8.1 and be able to upgrade parts of my PC when i want, or format C: and totaly erase what is on HDD periodicaly and reinstal OS.

As far as i understood there is some OEM version of windows which does not allow all that. Or maybe it was only for windows 7 and under and OEM has been abandonned?

Also i have 3 computers at home, if i ever want to instal on 3 PC do i need to buy this x3 ?

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a software to test the report rate and other efficiency test for keyboards. The only keybaord software i know so far is AquaKey Test to test the NKRO capability of a keyboard (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=6643.0).

Also, I am in the process of changing my operating system, currently using something very old. Problem : newer OS (win8+) does not have an option to change the USB ports report rate. So i changed my mouse to have one that is 500 or 1000Hz out of the box.

I currently have a Noppoo Chock MINI keyboard ( http://www.amazon.fr/Noppoo-Choc-Mini-Cherry-Mx-Red/dp/B007OK9OOM ) which is using 125Hz out of the box if i am correct and there was no driver with it, this keyboard is not even listed in their website (website seems quite out of date by the way : http://www.thenoppoo.com/). If anyone has more infos to share about Noppoo keyboards that would be nice. I know it is a quite famous keyboard and i realy like it's very short size.

Otherwise i would need to change my keyboard. I would need a compact/small keyboard that is 32cm long max because of my desk. With Cherry MX red if possible.

I carefuly watched the Cooler Master Storm keyboards, seems like they have quite a few of them, they are all larger than 32cm. Also they differe in their key rollover technology, some have NKRO, some only 6 keys rollover some 64 and some only in PS/2...

edit: also found this so far http://www.mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index...&p=637 no mention of 500 or 1000Hz.

Any advice or informations would be apreciated.

So i was playing a few FPS games lately. Mainly old games which had no native widescreen support. And some that were re-released with new engine or engine overhaul and presumably native widescreen support.

I noticed that for exemple Crysis 1 had native widescreen support when it was released, but was still featuring a low 60° FOV out of the box in the PC release. I have no idea if this FOV is either vetical or horizontal FOV.

About QuakeLive : i heard that the cg_fov cvar determines the Horizontal FOV but the value is only accurate for 4:3 aspect ratio. So I was wondering what is my real horizontal FOV in QuakeLive since I use cg_fov 90.

I use a 16:9 monitor in 1920x1080 resolution, so here we go :

ratio 16:9
horizontal 1920 pix, vertical 1080 pix
horizontal FOV=?

I first calculated the horizontal resolution i would need to get a 4:3 ratio using the same vertical resolution of 1080 pix.
1080/3 = 360, 360x4 = 1440

ratio 4:3
horizontal 1440, vertical 1080
horizontal FOV = 90°

Then i calculated how many hor pixels i have in 1° when in 4:3 with a 1440x1080 res. 1440/90=16

The i calculated how many times i have 16 in a hor res of 1920 :
1920/16=120

Result : real hor FOV in 16:9 is 120°.

Kind of funy to see how my brain resolves easy puzzles the hard way sometimes.

So, 120° sounds like a lot me. So i was wondering, are all the other FPS games calculating FOV using a horizontal base with a 4:3 ratio too? I have tested some FPS games where an fov of 90 looked much like 60 to me.

I think games should use a cvar that set the vertical FOV, since the only stable parameter seems to be the vert FOV across the different ratios why not use it?

PS : i actualy wanted ask for a way to set the hor FOV in other games to be the same as the one I use in QL. But yeah, that's prety much it for now. I know some rare games uses a diffeent method to not make 16:9 a big advantage over 4:3. I don't actualy remember which ones (RTS games?).
