Enemy Territory EC Final (37 comments)
Posted by TosspoT @ 11:31 CST, 4 December 2011 - iMsg
It's EuroCup Final time for Enemy Territory as EC XXIV comes to an end. We have one big game left this year where Europe Queens take on Netherlands gaming2perfection. g2p come from the losers bracket after beating MouseCon into the Grand Final, they will need to be on top of their game to beat a talented Queens line-up twice.

The game kicks off tonight at 15:00 CDT. Don't miss out on one of the biggest games of the season! Both teams progressed well to the grand final with both finishing top of their groups and only losing a couple of rounds each. g2p of course came from the loser bracket as they lost the Winners Bracket Final 4-2 and this repeat of that game should be just as close an affair.

The players & teams have provided game related quotes on Crossfire's game coverage.

CPL Returns with familiar faces (65 comments)
Posted by TosspoT @ 11:11 CDT, 1 May 2010 - iMsg
The CPL, known for its world class tournaments dating back to begining of eSports and its controversy... dating back to the begining of eSports has today confirmed two of its managerial team for their upcoming re-release, in addition they've announced that they'll be launching their new portal this week and have opened up their wallets to reimburse players and teams missing prizemoney.

Their announcement reads:

Singapore 1st May 2010 - CPL Digital Entertainment Pte. Ltd. is pleased to announce the launch of the new CPL gaming portal and its acquisition by WuLong Ventures Pte. Ltd.

“The new CPL is a departure from the professional gaming craze that has consumed most of the industry over the past few years and led to decisions that were not in the best interest of the community. We aspire to build a platform that empowers gamers with the ability to make key decisions about the games we support and how those games interact with our sites. While we respect the notion of professional gaming we feel there’s a need to get back to the roots that first allowed a community to develop through the CPL”said Ryan Schumacher, newly appointed CEO of WuLong Ventures Pte. LTD

GGL Sued by Game Hosting (29 comments)
Posted by TosspoT @ 05:32 CDT, 2 October 2009 - iMsg
Crossfire has broken the story of the latest gaming company to be owed significant money from another eSports organization, however this time someone has taken action!

Swedish based Game Server provider Game-Hosting have today completed the formalities on the first stage of taking GGL through court to procure some $40,000 owed to the company in unpaid bills. Game Hosting are owed the money following their hosting agreement with GGL that saw the company hosting the ClanBase.com website between January 06 and April 2008.

Eirik Pedersen of Game Hosting states:
We have finished legal proceedings against GGL and we won. GGL lost in Swedish courts and GGL is judged to pay us what they owe. Since GGL is a US company the Swedish ruling must now be transferred to US courts and enforced there. GGL has owed us money for over 1 year now and counting.

Crossfire confirms CC7, QL CTF Included? (63 comments)
Posted by TosspoT @ 11:50 CDT, 23 September 2009 - iMsg
Crossfire has today announced the 7th installment of the Crossfire Challenge event series for the weekend of March 5th-7th. The event is to be held at the WZZRD Gaming Center in Netherlands Enschede as per usual and will feature the traditional Crossfire event games - Enemy Territory, Wolfenstein & Modern Warfare 2 all with 4 figure cash prize purses in Crossfires traditional community orientated event style.

Additionally Crossfire is testing the water to see whether there would be interest in running a Quakelive tournament at the event. There are some potential sponsorship options on the horizon for a pro duel tournament, but the true nature of these events is around community atmosphere for team games. As such I'm looking to estimate whether there would be interest from teams not necessarily motivated by huge prize pots to attend for CTF?

All feed back is welcome!

The upcoming title so far hinted at being called 'Secret War' has been previewed mainly from its Single Player narrative, though there are extensive in game screenshots that certainly wet the appetite of fans of the story. In addition to that there is one line regarding the multiplayer, stating it will follow in the footsteps of Wolfenstein: Enemy Teritory.

Magarine. aka Drops has created a sensational twist on the gaming movie called Red Green and Blue! With only one other well known 3D modelled Enemy Territory movie(Christmas ET Jingle by Santa) released, this movie is a refreshing change from the usual frag movie or trickjump movie.

With custom skins and all your favourite maps turned into 3D models that are mixed with funny scenes and a great soundtrack, this is definitely not a movie you want a miss.

Weighing in at a mere 149MB and lasting 4 minutes 40, it is neither too large or too long for you impatient folk and is encoded with xvid 1.1, so even the poor old PC users who struggle with x264 will be able to watch.
