He has practiced so much lately he could be forgiven for not doing so one the arrival day, but here is again, hard at it, fatal1ty motto tatooed on his back.

Seems Q50 here is telling Deus just how bad his tennis is. Both played superbly well in the 4Kings triumph in the TDM tournament, Deus even having an 11 kill quad run O.o.

He might be attending ESWC as a UK Champion for TrackMania, but he showed he still has some great TDM skills in Quake 4 too. r2k was often found with quad and shotgun running riot, though only in Q4 you understand :p

HE screamed, wailed, bitched and bashed his way through the upper bracket until he met an in form OoZe. He also let Garpy get the better of him in the lower bracket and must be disapointed with his 5/6 finish. His TDM didnt go much better either, playing with aAa they were a lowly 3rd.

Using PURRI's glasses to audition for Oasis, 2GD looks just the part although I am not so sure about the vocals.

He never really shows much emotion, appearing almost bored whilst playing his matches although he confessed he did get a little nervous on the saturday.

He doesnt usualy look like this I can assure you, however this was mid game and you can see just how much PURRI concentrated on his games, sadly though he would not get further than top 12. His TDM skills though, were used to great effect on Sunday to help dignitas to 2nd place.

As ever, Gareth could be found smiling throughout the event and although he is never happy, a 4th placed finish should not be underestimated in what was a class field.

The Spanish guys came a long way and depsite the odd good performance, they didnt really make the impact I expected. akiles beating PURRI in the 1v1 lower bracket was a highlight for them.

Saturday night will be one to forget for zkyp (dignitas) as he suffered from migraine and then nose bleeds and a trip to the hospital meant he would be unable to take part in the semi final of the TDM. Still, PURRI was not a bad replacement for them.

He didnt play too well in the 1v1 and he is not really a dueller, but his TDM matches more than made up for it, often found way ahead of his team mates. Sadly for him, his team failed to win the TDM tournament as everyone had expected.

Unlike cooller and his bodyguard, winz had to fetch his own hardware into the building.

As ever we had a great time commentating and yet again there were a few classic phrases on the games we covered, not least of which was this one.

The final pic is an odd one (perhaps for some of us anyway). My nickname for astz is Veggie (as is his for me : Dont ask, it comes from a lan we attended years ago together).

This then, seemed appropriate on our way home in Belgium.

Clever play and map picks kept him in the hunt for the championship right up until he met a determined astz!

Tewic failed to impress during the tourney, but lets face it, these guys were some of the very best UT2004 players in the world.

He seemed pleased with his work, although I never did find out how the final went after it was 1-1 with rotterdam, that damn shoutcasting stuff kept getting in the way!

He had an intense but calm concentration during the bootcamp and it was no different in the tourney itself.

...without a fight anyway. he gave astz a whole load of headaches during the epic lower bracket semi and daddy looked on waiting for the winner.

These two would both reach the final to make a clean sweep in the UT2004 tourney, scrmz winning from astz!.

Despite the groovy hairstyle, x6tence were outplayed by fnatic and the dutch qualifiers.

He lost to his brother and fellow SK star in the final, a rare loss.

They arrived pretty late, but it didnt make any difference in the results.

As was world champion FIFA star, Stiyla.

The WC3 legened was also in attendance.

Lucnh gave us the opportunity for our first break, which was caused by a network failure.

Still, it gave ctan a chance to show us his card tricks and for frantic to demonstrate his ear piercing bottle blowing!

We arrived from Gent very late and got some sleep (well some of us did) and then we had to wait for the shuttles to take us to the event on Saturday morning. Here we are waiting outiside the hostel.

These guys simply have no idea how to use their headphones. They could be found in a variety of different places, other than where they should have been! Frantic demonstrates his "off ear" approach.

They get down to the harcore practicing, although it seems astz believes this involves annoying tewic during his game.

He taught us portuguese, won two Eurocup games played on lan but couldnt repeat that form when the tourney started. Still, he is a nice guy.

Always clever, he never really set the bootcamp alight with his play, but perhaps he didnt want to show his full hand just yet...

Perhaps this is why Frantic stormed the group stage? He only seemed to play killu at the bootcamp but he watched everyone else play with interest.

It really was very nice in the Outpost Lane center in Gent, lots of wide open spaces and plenty of room for the players.

We had to get a 2 hour train to Antwerp after we landed at Amsterdam airport, so we got some fresh air first (although it was really so I could smoke :P).

Also meeting up with us in Amsterdam was scrmz, although he had a much shorter journey than us.
