Man, this mouse is full of win. Excellent build quality, excellent sensor, comfortable shape, nice side grips and it just looks awesome, such a beautiful mouse.

Recently I've got the Zowie FK and Razer Krait 2013, both of them are also very good mice, but imho the deathadder is even better, it's pretty much the perfect mouse in my opinion. I own an abyssus aswell, jitter free, the sensor is very good and I love the 'agressive' shape, I would definitely recommend it if you like small and light mice without gimmicks.

So, starting from now on, the deathadder 2k13 is the best mouse I ever owned. I'm currently playing with 1800dpi and 1000hz and it's godlike. People saying that Razer is a shit compagny are just wrong. Ofc some of their products are all marketing bullshit, like the mamba or imperator, but still you can't deny that the rest of their products are very good.

I think I will now stick to the DA for quite some time.... or forever :p. I found the perfect mouse!

Because I would like to try out the DA 2k13 but i'll buy it only if plug & play without drivers (synapse 2.0) has for default dpi and hz respectively 1800 and 500.

btw, all the input lags and smoothing shit are a myth, because i replugged the FK after using the abyssus for like 1 month and i didn't notice any input lag or smoothing. I play almost exactly the same with these 2 mice.
there's NO input lag in the FK/AM and there's NO smoothing in the krait 2k13. People should stop spreading bullshit informations.

Why do I think it's the perfect config ? For many reasons :

- It's like you're playing in the matrix! Everything is so clean and simple, you can focus on the enemy model at 150%
- Everything is set at the lowest (for the GFX I mean), it can run smoothly (100+fps) even with the crapiest computer (integrated graphic card etc...)
- It's not a mess like for example the cypher's config, my config is actually a very light one and even lighter compressed!
- Everything that I found useful has been customized (like grenades color, teammodel's color and model (crash), rail trail, LG beam, vertexlight with overbrightcap, console and so on...), nothing has been forgotten
- There is not a single important command that I didn't include in my config
- It's very easy to load and can even overwrite a messy config without any issue

Some things you might want to know about the config:

So, as you can guess, I'm either playing with crosshair 3 or 2, because those are the best crosshairs imho. I'm also playing with either tank fov 90 or keel fov 100, because I found out that these 2 different settings are both amazing to play with. And ofc playerlean 0 especially useful with tankjr cause he is a tiny bit bigger than the hitbox.

Like knowing exactly how much damages does each weapon, at what firerate, with what knockback etc..

Are you satisfied by the current QL's netcode ?

I'm personally semi-satisfed. I like the fact that it's not like baseq3 or OSP/RA3 where low ping players had a serious advantage even over mid ping players.

But it's FAR from perfect.
Best ping range for hitscans (LG/MG) is probably between 35 and 45ms. With such a ping, it's basically easier to hit the opponent if the crosshair is right on him.
For projectiles weapons, the lower the better, because AFAIK there's no anti-lag/prediction for the projectiles.
For rail, well, it depends, sometimes you have your crosshair right on him but it doesn't hit still, and sometimes your crosshair is quite close to the hitbox and it's still a hit, and that no matter the ping range you play with.

If you have a ping above 80ms, AFAIK the anti-lag system "stops" working. So when you play with a high ping, there's no more antilag :/.
Timenudge and projectiles nudge can help in this case, but imho it's not as good as an anti-lag like in games like CPMA or... Warsow.

Pls, id, and especially SyncError, could you tell us if there are plans to modify the current quakelive's netcode ? A netcode like the one you can find in CPMA would be PERFECT.
CPMA's netcode is so perfect in many ways, and with such a netcode, some euros players could even play with the Americans because it would still be playable with a ping =~110ms.

Remember strenx vs jibo @ nodm9 CPMA/vq3 ? Strenx : 110ping, jibo : 18ms ping. And strenx managed to win and even outaim jibo in some cases :).

So, what are the reason why you don't play this game ?

For me personally it's cause of the weapons. Yes, the fucking weapons.

Currently the warsow's weapon balance works decently and ONLY decently. But the main problem is that they are definitely too weak or "messy". I mean, RL reload time is too fast, rockets are too fast, but dmg is too low (75dmgs only for a direct hit, WTF?). The EB (electrobolt aka railgun) does 75dmg aswell... The LG is a bit too weak especially with the new octogonal hitboxes which are smaller.

When you come from a game like quakelive or CPM, you instantly notice that the warsow's weapons have some issues/flaws. Over the years it has been changed there and here, with micro adjustments there and here (like +5dmg for 1 weapon etc... lol). But the thing is, the current warsow's developers have no clue of what is a good weapons balance and what is a good weapons feeling.
I mean, look at QuakeWorld, the weapons in this game are very VERY strong, but the movements aswell. Look at CPM, the RL does 100dmg for a full hit and the rail does 80dmg with fast reload time. In both of these games, the feeling when you use a certain weapon is just... PERFECT.

On top of that, instead of making the weapons stronger, they added the stun (you get stunned when you get hit by a weapon and then you can't walljump anymore for a short period of time).
You don't need stun if the weapons are strong enough. You can't run away like a little butterfly if the weapons are strong enough and don't allow you to do so while you get hit.

Basically, I would play warsow if the weapons were the exact copy of CPM weapons. Or maybe almost the exact copy just maybe a little stronger (like a bit more knockback etc).
Warsow could satisfy the CPM players that are left (so yeah, 17 of them :DDDD) and even some quakelive players if it had better weapons balance and feeling.

Quakelive is down, and I'm kind of bored, means that it's the time for me to share some of my knowledge regarding dodging in LG vs LG situations.

First of all, if you want me to demonstrate briefly ingame how to dodge the LG, add me at quakelive "He4rTL3sS".

So, there you go.
Firstly, you have to know that there are basically 3 kind of dodges :
- short strafes
- medium strafes
- long/large strafes
And then there are the variants :
- short to med
- med to long

Then there is the distance between you and your opponent :
- close range
- medium range
- long range

And finally, there is the sensitivity :
- low sensitivity
- medium sensitivity
- high sensitivity

1°) Ok, now, let's start with a LG battle at close/very close range, what kind of dodges should you use ?

Actually, it's quite simple, but it also depends on your opponent's sensitivity.

If he's using low sens :
move in circle around him (to get your hits at his 'sides' and also nullify his short strafes) with :
- large/long strafes + some medium strafes there and here
Basically like this :
leeffffffffffffttt(long) riiightt(med) leeeffffffffffttt(long) riigght(med) leeeeeeffffftttt(long) riiighht(med) leeeeeeeffffft(long) riiigghhht(med) and so on...

Long/large strafes force him to do large movements with his mouse (and everyone knows that doing large movements with a low or ultra low sens is a bit harder), while medium strafes make him think that you will almost always do large strafes, basically mess up his prediction of your dodging pattern. Also, with low sens, alternating between large mouse movements, and precise medium mouse movements is actually pretty hard, only the best aimers in the world can do it consistently.

Now, If he's using high sens :
Try to stay in front of him no matter what. He will for sure try to move in circle around you, but it's counterable by moving backward and using left and right accordingly. It's hard to explain by only writing it so that's why I recommend you to add me at quakelive so that I can show you exactly what I mean.
Like I said, stay in front of him and do :
- short strafes + some medium strafes there and here
Basically like this :
left(short) right(short) left(short) right(short) left(short) right(short) leeeeffft(med) righhhht(med) left(short) right(short) left(short) right(short) leeeffttt(med) righhht(med) and so on...

Short strafes are very useful to prevent the LG lock on you. Everyone knows that with a high or ultra high sens, it's harder to keep tracking the enemy when he does fast and short strafes. You can also do large strafes from time to time but NEVER abuse it, cause it's quite simple, with high sens, to aim lock someone who is doing large strafes.
Except for a few VERY VERY skilled players with high/ultra high sens, keeping track of the opponent when he's moving fast left and right like a mad man is quite hard because your mouse movements will basically be unstable and shaky, you will 'over-do' your mouse movements.

2°) Now let's talk about how to dodge a LG beam while in a med to long range battle.

If he's using low sens :
You can do either :
- Abusing the med strafes * or
- doing med strafes + long strafes mostly ** or
- doing short strafes + few med strafes + long strafes ***

* If he has a sens around 30-40cm/360°, and if you're at med range, as weird as it might sound, abusing the med strafes can work very well sometimes (against few opponents but still). This can be explained by the fact that med strafes are neither long or short strafes. Let me clarify what I want to explain.
With a low sens, it's easier to keep tracking of short strafes, and some people played for a very long period of time with low sens so that they can also do a shaft lock against someone doing large strafes without too much effort. Actually, some people with low sens struggle against med strafes at med range because they practiced so much against short strafes and long strafes but not med strafes, they are not used to that kind of dodge. Abusing the med strafes dodges is also called "lag dodge" by some people.

So, what you do is very simple :
leffftt(med) rigght(med) leeeffft(med) righht(med) leeefffft(med) rigghht(med) and so on...

** The combination between med strafes and long strafes can be deadly at med to long range against a low sens player. Everyone knows that large movements are harder to lock with an ultra low sens. And like I explained above, the "lag dodge" can work well aswell. Ofc against a very skilled guy, even if you do large strafes he can still lock you without too much effort BUT, if you add some medium strafes to the mix, you are a bit more unpredictable and so it makes your opponent mess up his prediction of your dodging pattern.

Here is how you have to proceed :
leffftt(med) righhht(med) leeeffft(med) rigggghht(med) leeeeeeeeeeffffft(long) riiiiiiggghhhttt(long) lefffft(med) rigghht(med) leeefft(med) riggghht(med) leeeffffftttttttt(long) riggggghhhhhhhhttt(long) and so on...

If he's using high sens :
Do short to med strafes + med strafes

Like mentioned above, short strafes are harder to get a lock on it with ultra high sens. BUT, you have to make your strafes not too short, cause with the distance, if you do too short strafes, the opponent has barely to move his mouse. So you have to move the right way to make his mouse's movements unstable and shaky, and the best way to do that is to do short to med strafes.
Don't do large strafes, replace it with med strafes rather, med strafes had some dynamism to your dodging pattern and ofc, makes your more unpredictable. At long range, med strafes can even appear to be short to med strafes, which are hard to get a lock on it with high sens.

Is it true that the zowie mice (except maybe the mico) have "input lag" at lower dpi ?

I've read somewhere at overclock.net that the AM (and then the FK) has "input lag" or mouse smoothing at 450 and 1150dpi but not at 2300dpi.

But what I find strange is that from my own experience there's almost litterally no difference between those 3 dpi steps. From my own experience, I didn't feel any input lag at all. But maybe it's because i'm too noob to notice it ? :p

My laptop has HDMI and VGA ports. But no DVI afaik (i'm not completely sure). How does a DVI slot look like ? My laptop model is HP Pavilion g6-sf3055 (or something like that), it's quite recent and I managed to plug in my CRT.
But in the future i plan to buy a flat monitor with 120hz, that why I'm wondering, will my laptop support 120hz ? Do I have to buy any DVI to VGA adaptator ?

So, to all my fans who are wondering why I'm losing to people I usually beat, don't worry, I'm not at home.

I'm on vacation in Rennes, France, at approximately 350km from where I live (near Paris). Fortunalety there is a good internet connection, (I have 42ms on DEU servers, compared to 48ms at home) 20 MB. It's a very enjoyable place with even a pool in the garden.

I'm playing on my laptop, means that I don't have my CRT. 60hz, 43636ms response time, you can guess that it's not ideal to play quake. Also, I didn't bring my keyboard, that's why I'm playing on the laptop's keyboard. I have the exact same pc at home (I use only 1 laptop for everything), except that I have my good old 17" CRT (Samsung Syncmaster 1024x768 100hz) plugged in. And ofc also my very nice ozone strike mechanical keyboard.

For those who are wondering what are my laptop specs, there you go :
Intel Core-i5 3210M (2.50ghz x 2)
4GB of memory
AMD Radeon HD 7670M (1GB of ram)
500Go hard drive
~600€ (bought it like 6 months ago?)

Means that I can play quake at a solid 125fps. But without my CRT, i'm nothing ;P.
Oh, also, I'm playing with the Zowie FK (450dpi 500hz, sens 2.8 = 30cm/360°) on a razer goliathus mousepad (med size), and when I'm at home, QcK Heavy. So, the feeling is a little bit different, but it's still more than playable. Like I said, I only miss my CRT :>.

So, I tried every possible single setting. From 450dpi 500hz to 2300dpi 1000hz. So far I haven't experienced any major differences at all at those different settings, I mean, 450 dpi 500hz just feels the same as 2300dpi 1000hz, only thing you have to do is to change the quakelive sensitivity ofc (when playing at 1150dpi, I go with sens 1.2 = 29cm/360°, when playing at 450dpi I go with sens 2.8 = 30cm/360°).

I've read somewhere at overclock.net that it's better to use either 500hz or 2300dpi 1000hz, to have better tracking and higher malfunction speed. I tried to look again for the thread where the user tested the AM/FK (exact same sensor and configurations) to death, but couldn't find it anymore. I'm not completely sure but basically what came out as a conclusion was, like I said, using 500hz However I can't remember if it's recommended to use 1150dpi, even with 500hz, because of the probably "too low" malfunction speed, but like I said, I'm not sure, I might be wrong there.
I changed recently to 1150dpi because I like the cursor speed on windows and starcraft, not too fast, not too slow (with windows sens at 1 ratio, 6/11). Also, even with this setting I can still play quakelive at ~30cm/360°, with a sensitivity higher than 1 (in some games like cs 1.6, css, half-life, you can't have a sensitivity < 1, that's why it's important for me to keep it at at least 1, so that I can have the EXACT same sensitivity in all these games including quakelive).

So, I'm asking you, is it OK to play at 1150dpi 500hz ? Is it almost the same as at 450dpi ? Or should I stick to 450dpi ?

So I just watched the 125fps duel cup @ Fuse, and all I have to say is that it seems to be a really good duel map.

It's big, kind of slow paced, with lot of space to move around and the textures set reminds me of quake 4. Also, it seems to be LG heavy, just like campgrounds. Maybe it could be a good campgrounds replacement ?

Is it recommended to play starcraft 2 with 450dpi windows sens in the middle (6/11) ?

So guy, as far as I know, the Zowie AM has highest perfect control speed (without any neg/pos accel before it) at 500hz, or 2300dpi 1000hz.

The settings you wouldn't want to use are 450/1150 dpi at 1000hz, because of neg/pos accel at some point and then malfunction at about 2.2m/s.

I was using 450dpi at 1000hz, but recently switched to 500hz. It's not really 500hz tho, more like average 680hz.

So, guys, I have 2 questions :

1) Is it normal that the 500hz setting is more like 680hz ?
2) What settings would you recommend to me, 2300dpi at 1000hz or 450dpi at 500hz ?

By the way, if I play at 2300dpi, I will have sensitivity 1 (16cm/360°), but if I play with 450dpi my sensitivity will be 2.8 (30cm/360°). I played with 30cm/360° for more than a year now.
And I don't want to use the 1150dpi step, so it will be either 2300 or 450, but not 1150.

That I'm not #1 at thunderstruck anymore. And I probably never was. Even after playing it for like, 7-8 years ? I'm not a naturally talented guy, and I'm only almost good at shafting because I spent half my life doing it 80% of the time.

Okay guys, I think that the era of being #1 at thunderstruck is now over. I won't play thunderstruck anymore.

Starting from now on, I will practice either quakelive duel or starcraft 2 duel.

OK guys, from my own experience, I'll try to make a little comparison between the Razer Abyssus and the Zowie AM, to find out what is the best mouse between these two. OK, there you go :

Design and quality of the components:
ADVANTAGE AM!
It was kind of a hard decision to make, because I think that both mice look great and the components are of good quality for both mice. However the feel of the mice is different, I mean, the abyssus seems to be made of cheaper components than the AM. Overall the AM feels a little bit more solid and reliable. But keep in mind that the AM is more expensive, ~25€ more expensive as far as I know. Also, I don't know about the abyssus, but the AM does have omrons and huanos switches, means that the buttons are solid and will last longer.
I have an Abyssus mirror edition, and all I have to say is that it looks very nice. I like the glossy top of the mouse. For the AM, I would choose either the full gloss version (it just looks amazing, especially in full white!), or the rubber one. I personally have a rubber one, and I like the soft feeling of the mouse, it's a real pleasure for the fingers!

Weight:
ADVANTAGE ABYSSUS!
From what I experienced, the abyssus seems a little bit lighter. Nothing really more to say there, if you want the lightest possible mouse, go for the abyssus. The difference is only minor though, and to be honest, both mice are light and won't stress your hand/fingers too much.

Shape:
IT'S A DRAW!
The abyssus is a bit larger, but the AM is a bit longer. The abyssus has a more agressive design, while the AM seems to be more comfortable for your fingers, altho I would say that the abyssus is actually less stressful for your fingers, after a long session of gaming, paradoxaly. Only depends on the way you hold your mouse there, I guess. For some people, the abyssus feels more comfortable, while for other people, it's the AM. If you have a sweaty hand, I would recommend the abyssus because it's easier to fully hold the mouse and get a good grip on it. Maybe I should try the Zowie FK, would probably suit my finger type grip better. Anyway, altho being different, I personally like both shapes in their own way. I would say that the abyssus is pretty close to the Logitech mx300/G1/G3/G100(s), and quite close to the kinzu, but there again, with a more agressive shape. On the other hand, the AM is pretty close to the WMO/IMO 1.1a, with sides buttons, of course.

Scroll wheel:
IT'S A DRAW!
From what they say in the packaging, the AM does have a very solid scroll wheel, something that could last probably 2 or 3 years without breaking. From what I experienced, it does indeed feel nice and solid, but too hard for my liking. It's actually VERY hard to press it. On the other hand, the abyssus's scroll wheel doesn't suffer from any major issues/flaws, although, there again, I'm not sure if it could last more than 2 years without breaking. If you're looking for comfort, you might try the abyssus, whereas if you're looking for durability, you might want to try the AM.

Sensor and Lift-Off Distance (LOD):
LITTLE ADVANTAGE AM!
I've played with the abyssus for something like 11+ months, coming from a Steelseries Kinzu. At first I needed time to adapt to a non-prediction non-hardware accel mouse, but once I got used to it, I realized that the abyssus's sensor is definitely better than the kinzu's one. I'm not a Counter-Strike player, but still, I do not like accel at all. I'm just looking for a mouse which would read my mouse's movements on the mousepad at perfection, I'm looking for a "pure" sensor without any angle-snapping/prediction and so on.
The Avago ADNS-S3888 inside the abyssus is very close to perfection in that regard. However, what I do not really like after trying the AM, is the LOD of the abyssus. The AM has such a low LOD that it's almost impossible to go back to your previous high LOD mouse. I did a little test after playing with the AM for approximately 1+ month; I plugged in my old abyssus again, and guess what, I wasn't aware of such an issue before, but when you experience the low LOD of the AM, you just realize that a high LOD can be quite a serious flaw. I'm not saying that you just can't get used to a high LOD, basically you can get used to anything really, but still, a high LOD can be a pretty serious issue if you play with a low/very low sensitivity. That being said, I still like the abyssus sensor A LOT.
Now let's talk about the AM sensor. I have three words to describe it : pretty much perfection. The Avago ADNS 3090 sensor is pretty much flawless, you can make very slow as well as very fast movements without any loss in precision. I won't talk to much about this sensor because I think that almost everyone knows how good it is already. And like I said, the low LOD combined with a flawless sensor is a perfect combo, to be honest.

DPI and polling rates:
ADVANTAGE AM!
Let me remind you the DPI steps of the AM and abyssus. For the AM : 450, 1150 and 2300. For the abyssus : 450, 1800 and 3500. I tried the abyssus at both 3500 and 450dpi. But if I play with 3500dpi, I have, of course, to lower the ingame sensitivity A LOT (something like 0.4 to have approximately 30cm/360°). And to have an almost perfect 30cm/360° with 450dpi, I have to set up my sensitivity to 2.8. To be honest, I get pretty much exactly the same feeling at 30cm/360° with both 450 and 3500dpi. Didn't try high sensitivity with 3500dpi though.
Then with the AM I tried both 450 and 2300dpi. Except that, not like with the abyssus, I actually tried med/high sensitivity with 2300dpi. What I consider a med/high sensitivity is something under 20cm/360°. Actually it was exactly 16cm/360°. And to be honest, I liked the feeling of it!
So, basically, if you're a low sensitivity player, you might want to play with a low DPI, while if you're a high sensitivity player, you might try higher DPI.
Having said that, both mice work really great at both low and high DPI, only a matter of preference, but I would still recommend 450dpi nevertheless because in some games, it's not possible to have a sensitivity under 1, keep that in mind ;). At least if you're a low sensitivity user.
About the polling rate, well, nothing much to say there, just play with 1000hz, by default on the AM. The abyssus doesn't have a 500hz incrementation though, something that some people would miss.
Also, I prefer the way of changing DPI/polling rate with the AM than with the abyssus. For both mice, changing DPI can be done below the mouse, except that with the AM you have to press 1 button and then see the color of the little led close to that button to know how much DPI you have. For example, a red led means 450dpi and a blue led means 2300dpi. Genius! And if you want to change the polling rate of the AM, you just have to press a combination of button right before pluggin in the mouse! Works like a charm.
In the matter of the abyssus, the dpi/polling rate steps located below the mouse might be easily breakable if you move them too hard.

Mouse's skates:
ADVANTAGE AM!
I don't really like the skates of the abyssus, because I think that they are too small. I personally prefer large mouse's skates over small ones, even though it adds a little bit more friction. I also liked the fact that with the AM, they give you some additional mouse's skates.
And in term of feeling, well, both mice slide on the mousepad without interruption, with smoothness. They are pretty equivalent in that regard.

FINAL RATING:
If I had to rate these mice, I would give a 9 out of 10 for the AM, and a 8.5 out of 10 for the abyssus. So far the AM is probably the best mouse I have ever used, and the abyssus comes second right after it.
However, if you only have a low budget (in other words, if you are poor like Jamerio), go for the abyssus, you won't be disappoint. For this price's range the abyssus is probably the best mouse you could get, along with the g100s from Logitech. If you are a palm grip user, forget the abyssus though... And go for a DeathAdder from Razer or even an EC1/EC2 Evo from Zowie.

Okay, guys, so, after years of playing FPS and years of switching mice, I finally came out with more knowledge regarding sensitivities (and mice).

I will explain how I proceed to change my sensitivity, but first, what I will say is quite obvious but still, if you want to be consistent, if you want to feel very comfortable with your settings, try to stick with 1 sens/1 cfg for at least MONTHS. It's not a secret that those with the best aim play with the same mouse/cfg for YEARS (l1nkin, toxjq, strenx, k1llsen, stermy). If you always change this or that, if you keep switching mice, you will NEVER reach the "wow, it feels so smooth" feeling, you will NEVER be comfortable with your settings.
Personally if I change my sensitivity to about +/-6cm, I need AT LEAST 1 or 2 months to get used to it at 80-85%. If I change my enemymodel and/or my crosshair, I need AT LEAST 3-4 weeks to get used to it at 85%. Feeling very comfortable with your settings definitely takes TIME.

Okay, now, let's talk about sensitivities.
First of all, I will show you what is a GOOD sens, and what is a BAD sens, with 2 examples. This is what I consider to be a bad sens : 3.128, and what I consider to be a good sens : 3 (or even 3.2/3.1).
Often people came up with the conclusion that a sens with 3 digits after the point is more precise, and this is totally WRONG. It's basically just over complicating your sens. Sens 3.0 or 3.5 is way more simple, and clean.
This is how you will have to proceed with a 450dpi mouse :
- start at 0, then add +0.7
- sens 0.7 @ 450dpi is fucking low, so you might want to increase it then
- add +0.7, now you have sens 1.4
- might still be too slow, then
- add +0.7, there you have sens 2.1, finally something playable
- if it still feels a bit too slow for you, then add +0.7 again
- now you have sens 2.8, which is a perfect 30cm/360° (this is my current sensitivity btw)
If you're playing with mouseaccel, you might try :
- either sens 1.4 + cl_mouseaccel 0.05
- or sens 2.1 + mouseaccel 0.05 (and if you think that it's still not enough accel, then add +0.05 to your mouseaccel value, would be 0.1)

Now you will probably ask, "but why 0.7 and not 0.5 or 0.35 or 0.125?", it's very simple actually : at 450dpi, when you have a difference of 0.5 sens (probably 3-4cm on the mousepad), it's hardly noticable enough. Sens 0.7 gives you approximately 5-7cm, which starts to be a notable difference. Anything lower than 0.7 is just gimmick and unecessary.

Then if you're playing with 800dpi, start with sens 0.4. For example with my old kinzu, at 800dpi, I did :
- start at sens 0, then add +0.4
- too slow, then add +0.4
- now you have sens 0.8, still too slow then
- add +0.4, sens 1.2, okay now it feels quite good, but still a little bit too slow, then
- add +0.4, sens 1.6 : perfect. About ~32cm/360°.

Now, if you're a high dpi user, for example 3500dpi, then start at 0 and add +0.1 (sens 0.4 (0.1 x 4) is about 29cm/360°). For 2300dpi, start at 0 then add +0.2 (sens 1.0 ( 0.2 x 5 ) is about 16cm/360°).

That's it, I hope that this will be helpful to some people.

- Detrony is #5 (anyone knows that guy ? Apparently he's from South Africa, and his elo is currently 2426, that's fucking high for a guy who's living in S.A.)

- Dahang isn't #1 anymore (Imho, Dahang > Fraze, especially these days. Fraze is good but come on, Dahang just beat rapha recently in the faceit N.A. duel cup, I think that he deserves to be #1, that's why I also think that QLRanks isn't that accurate when it comes to duel)

- toxjq is in the top10 (who doesn't like this guy ? I mean, his aim is so fucking good, and he was dominant in the q4 era, it's nice to see him in the top10, but imo, he should be in top5, so maybe, with even more practice, he could reach #5)

- p0ni is #9 (nice to see a spanish at the top, I heard that this guy has very good aim, it's not a surprise to see him in the top10)

- noctis is #14 (apparently the TDM monster still plays duel, and is good at it)

- Zero4 is #16 (he's probably top3 in the US, just behind rapha and dahang, seeing him only at #16 is quite surprising, I personally would rate him higher)

- Av3k is only #18 (probably the most underated guy, Av3k is definitely top5 material when it comes to duel)

- Sev3n is #21 (probably top2 in France, right behind strenx, Sev3n is a sub-top duel player who certainly deserves to be at the top in EU)

- Vo0 is #29 (the cpm and pk monster is also apparently a pretty good dueler)

- Cyber is only #31 (AKA Amai, arguably top2 in Belarussia, seeing him only in the top40 is quite surprising, I would place him in the top15 for sure)

- cooller is #32 (WTF, really ? Cooller should be #1, probably even #0. Hehe, maybe he shouldn't let his brother share his account :D. Keep in mind that cooller's bro is probably ~1300 elo)

- stermy is #40 (stermy is probably semi-active, and was recently beat by his little bro H41 at EyetoEye duel :p, playing too much shootmania perhaps ?)

- czm is only #44 (I'm not sure but imo he should stop playing with the kinzu, this mouse doesn't seem to suit him very well, maybe he should try the g100s from logitech or a good old WMO)

So, I'm currently playing with a zowie AM and so far I've been very satisfied by the mouse's quality.

But I need your opinions guys, because I'm hesitating between 2 dpi settings, 450 and 2300.

What is the best dpi setting to use ? 450 or 2300 ? I know that 2300dpi has higher malfunction speed, 3.3m/s instead of 2.9m/s for 450dpi. I didn't experience any jitters issues at 2300dpi on a steelseries QcK Heavy. I play at about 30cm/360°, which means sensitivity 2.8 @ 450dpi and approximately sensitivity 0.6 (0.549 to be exact) @ 2300dpi.

What would you suggest to me, 450 or 2300 ? :)

(btw, I use sens 6/11 at windows - currently using windows 8 - which means that it's kind of slow at 450dpi but very fast at 2300, and I don't want to change the windows sens, so even at 2300dpi it will stay at 6/11, so, maybe it's better to use 450 instead of 2300 right ? So, since some days know i have a little problem with my steelseries 6gv2.

I strafe right with the "h" key. But sometimes the key doesn't work when i press it. Basically it stops working for like 0.5 secs and then when i press it again it starts working again.

I tried to remove the key with a knife, with success. But i don't know how to remove the black switch, so, how do i do it ?

So, yeah, I'm really done with duel.

Played it for 1 week and a half until I realized that it's not for me. I'm losing to 1300 elo players, I get beat like 12-0 on bloodrun by 1900 elo players, and finally, also got beat by CA players playing duel (elo ~1600-1800), with scores like 15-5 or something.

VERY frustrating. It's not even rage, because I'm not raging at all. It's just frustration really, and a bit of sadness.

I think that I'm not meant to be a duel player. Some people are naturally talented at duel, which is not my case. I'm naturally talented for combat skills, but not for timing items and elaborate a deep strategy, for exemple, when you're out of control.

Also, I really don't see myself getting bashed constantly until I start to win some and improve. Many years now that I'm playing thunderstruck, and I never felt that much frustration when I lose. I just don't see myself playing duel only for 6 months anymore. I miss thunderstruck so much.

So yeah, I'm back to basics I guess. Good old thunderstruck with music out loud. I don't care if it's CA and if CA got bad reputation. I don't care if people flame me or make fun of me because I'm playing a retarded gametype. I love CA 1v1/2v2, that's all that matters.

I'm gonna play whatever I have most fun with, and ignore all the haters. I'm a bit autistic by nature, I can play thunderstruck with 1 weapon only for hours until I start to get bored and until I want to do something else. What's wrong with it really ? We need all kind of people on earth.

Ok, so, since I started duel again, you can guess that I'm quite noob at it.
I have several questions.

I'm playing maps like bloodrun, furiousheights and aerowalk. Gonna start playing silence aswell, but a bit later.
What I would like to know is :

1)When you have total control @ bloodrun (RA + MH) what to do to catch your opponent off guard? Rush or more defensive play ? How to set up a trap properly ?

2)When out of control @ bloodrun, what to do ? Rail, rail, rail, or something else ?

3)How to position yourself @ furiousheights when you have total map control ?

4)@furiousheights, when out of control, do you have to try to steal one RA or one mega, orr is it better to try to stack up with only the YAs ? Is it necessary to rush the rail right after respawning ?

I was trolling you when I said that I'm gonna practice duel.

Wanted to see the community's reaction. All I can say is that I have many fans, because a lot of people wished me good luck. It was pretty funny to see all this enthusiasm.

Seriously, why would I play World of Warcraft Live ? I mean, duel is like WoW, you have to farm your stuff before engaging a fight. It's also like Pacman, and I don't like pacman at all. I mean, look at rapha, 0 aim but still owning at duel. He's good at collecting armors and weapons, good for him.

I'm still #1 at thunderstruck, because the only people who manage to beat me are cheaters.

starting now! I already played some games on bloodrun vs opponents at my skill level.

I played against 2 french guys (one of them is called izighar, and is a very cool guy, withh pretty good lg :)), and vs jwzr, the german CA prodigy (http://www.foopics.com/showfull/79f44753fea4dd8d125292e98fb91017). I won my game against jwzr 7- -1 :D, with pretty decnt map control, and 62% rail :D. I lost once or twice vs izighar, but won the last one 17-4 or something. I felt pretty focused and had good routine. Actually I played pretty decently. I'm quite proud of myself :D.

I plan to practice on maps like bloodrun, furiousheights, aerowalk and lostworld, and maybe a bit of toxicitty aswell. But no hektik, cause for some reason, I don't really like this map :(.

Don't expect to see me soon at the faceit cups, because if I participate, I'll get destroyed :). I'll ttry to play duel instead of CA on thunderstruck, so that I can lose my bad habits and can start feeling more comfortable at duel.

THE REASONS WHY I DECIDED TO PICK DUEL UP

There are some reasons why I decided to move on from CA to duel.
Firstly, I'm quite frankly tired of all the hate towards CA, I mean, where you're good at CA, it means nothing, people will keep making fun of you as if you were some kind of paralympic retard. ESR is full of these people whom like to trashtalk and troll the CA players. For exemple, when I said there at ESR that I beat ph at CA, most of the comments were trolling and trashtalking. I'm tired of this...
Also, I've always enjoyed watching duels, I mean, when you're good at it, it's a joy to spectate. For exemple watching cypher plays is always a good entertainment. Sometimes I just think "well, I want to be as good as them and start to be famous".
Then I like the fact that duel is very elitist and very hard to play, it's a big challenge if you want to be good at it, and I like challenges :).
And tbh, since strenx left quake for shootmania, there are not many good french duelers left. I can name only 2 : Guismo and gory. But these guys aren't top players, they're just sub-top at best. Not saying that I would rape them ez but quite frankly they're nowhere near the level of strenx. I just want to represent my country as much as I can. My plan is to be as good as people like pavel and maybe even baksteen. But for that, I'll probably need at least 6 months of intense practice, if not more.
Also, there is something that frustrate me a lot at CA :
one day all of a sudden you'll get kind of rapped with no room for improvment. I mean, if you followed my story with jewro and powaah, then you can understand me. Getting owned at 1v1 LG fights all of a sudden is very frustrating. And being owned by a 15yo kid is even more frustrating. In that case, there's not much you can do, I mean, if you lose your LG fights, it's over, end of story. You can practice as much as you want, won't change a thing. If you don't hit 45%LG like this little kid powaah, you're screwed. You can still play in the tunnel @ thunderstruck, but it's so lame and boring, and at 2v2, if you try to play smart, you'll still get destroyed, cause at the end, the one who has the best aim/dodge wins.
But at duel it's different, you can clearly outsmart your opponent, and adapt your playstyle in consequence. Just take a look at rapha, this guy has awesome dodging abilities but that's all. He's not known for his aim or anything, he's just talented, and... very smart. Basically when you play CA and you get owned, it's like playing an ultra performant BOT, you can't do shit, no matter how hard you try. But when you play duel, you can still out-smart this ultra performant BOT, and imo that's what makes it interesting.
For exemple vs someone like jewro, instead of trying desperately to out-aim him with my shaft, I'll try to have better items control, better positioning and so on. Just like how rapha plays, basically.
And last but not least, some people suggested me to play duel, and they were right. I won't have to learn such things as aim and dodging, cause I already have them. I'm not the best aim player in the world but my aim is still very solid, basically I can out-aim ALMOST anyone. And about my dodges, well, a lot of people says that I already got good dodging abilities, so, there again, nothing new to learn!
The only things I'll need to learn is map control, positioning, spawn raping and... the maps.
It's still a challenge and quite difficult, but it's not as if I had very bad aim or something. Forr exemple if you take a look at cOOw, the polish CA player, you can clearly see his potential, this guys already has good aim and can beat people like jewro without too much effort. If cOOw did it, if baksteen did it, then I can do it!

WHY DO I THINK THEY CHEAT?

Ok, so, let me summarize for you:


jewro:
he's a well known swedish dueler, overall he has good aim, particularly his LG.
He's not the best dueler ever, but still more than decent at duel, if not (very) good. On a good day, hhe can beat any sub-top player. He's an LG whore, just like me, if not more. He likes to abuse his LG againstt basically everyone. Like I said, on a good day, he can out-aim almost anyone. But IMO hhe misses that little thing that makes you a top player. If you're good enough, he will probably NEVER beat you, not even once.
So, basically, we played like 30-40 games together. Both in 1v1 CA and 2v2 CA. Out of these games, I don't remember a single time where he beats me, well, maybe once or twice, but that's all. Still, he can give me some sort of challenge when I play him. Very often scores are like 20-15 in my favor. So, as you can guess, sometimes he's very close to beat me, but at the end, I always win.
Yesterday we played like 6 games at 1v1 CA, on thunderstruck, ofc. Out of these 6 games, I managed to win only the first one ( http://www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/He...1fd90/ca/1 ), as you can see, I had 36% LG, and hhe had 31%.
But suddenly, the following games we played he had more than 41%+ LG accuracies. Basically, he out-aimed me hard. Here is a little exemple of what I'm saying :

By out-aiming, I mean fucking OUT-aiming me. With scores like 20-7, 20-8 in his favor.

This little kid called Nikola is a well known serbian CA player. He's only 15 years old, with like 2 years of time played. He didn't play q3, well, maybe he did, but just for fun vs bots etc. When he doesn't cheat, just like jewro, he can give me some sort of challenge. Often games are like 20-14 in my favor. He's good, you can't deny. I had faith in this little prodigy, I thought that he was the next very best CA player in europe. With like 2-3 more years of practice, I thought that he could beat anyone.
But that was before what happened yesterday :
So, out of 20 games we played together (both at 1v1 and 2v2), he managed to beat me like 3-4 times, but not more. But this time, I don't know, it was hopeless. It felt hopeless at least. I mean, he was like insanely good, and my dodges didn't seem to work at all, just take a look at this:

fucking 46% LG while I only hit 37%. 40% fucking percent SG. 56% railgun and 73%RL vs my litttle 33%. Just insane. So, after that, I decided to play more to see if it wasn't luck or something. Same story. Hopeless. I get raped hard with scores like 20-6, 20-8 at best.
He came up with these excuses : "I'm playing at my bro, new CRT 120HZ, razer deathhadder 450cpi, and your dodges are bad".
Tried to play him today, and what he said to me to justify his shaky but still DEADLY aim "i'm playing with the kinzu". Same score, 20-5 for him, with 48 fucking % LG, vs my little 36%.
How can he adapt from the deathadder to the kinzu so fast ? How can he manage to hit such high accuracies ?

Also, he got many different accounts, and most of them got banned. I don't know the reasons, but it's because of cheating I assume.

I mean, the adroits LAN was awesome, as well as the faceit cups. Can't wait for the dreamhack.
Did you see the last faceit tournament ? That final between evil and spart1e was sooo good. Evil is such a beast at duel, it's amazing. Also, remember purri @ adroits LAN ? He was litterally on fire, was awesome to watch. And about cypher, well, he's cypher, his combat abilities are just amazing, he sure knows how to play duel, even vs the best players. Can't wait to see rapha at dreamhack, once again, will be a clash of the titans, cypher vs rapha :O. Just love the russian's playstyles too. I mean, pavel, evil, agent, they are all so good at duel it's mindblowing. The current quakelive overall level is higher than ever, so much skill, literrally. Even in TDM, some people like spart1e, silencep, krysa are amazing to watch. And about ctf, did you see gerppa or l1nkin play ? It's just :O

Quake has everything you need for a fast-paced fps. I mean, the movements, the weapons, the maps, everything is so perfect. The game is so well balanced, the skill gap is so high. It's a 1999 engine, but still work amazingly good. And it's far from ugly aswell. I mean, there are a lot of different and cool models like doom, ranger, keel, xaero etc, the art desingg of quakelive, altho being a bit old now, is still very good. Name one game with as much different models as quakelive... there is only UT2k4. And about the maps, it's amazing that not a single map looks the same, and play the same. Overall quake 3 live is still a beautiful game. Did you see the last agent frag movie ? Just beautiful. I like everything, thhe graphics, the pace, the skill, there is no other game as complete as quakelive for such a thing. Skill, style, beauty.

The community is also awesome. I mean, esreality is so nice, you have everything you need there, and you can troll as much as you want. For me ESR > teamliquid. I just love the fact that most of the people here at ESR are hardcore quakers (or trollers), and there is a lot of different levels. I mean, some people are still noob at the game, but it's ok, they can troll :P. ESR has been there for so long now, it's almost like a religion. ESR is just like quake, it will never die :).

Also, i love the fact that quakelive has so much to offer. I mean, if you like team based ggametype you can play TDM or CTF. If you like 1on1 you can play duel. If you want to have fun instantly without too much thinking, you can play CA. If you love the movements, you can play defrag. Everyone can be pleased. It's for all the different tastes.

ATM there are about 300 000 active quakelive players, and close to 4M registered account. Not bad if you ask me, especially for a 13 years old game :).

I know how to record in 480p, but i'm wondering what to do for 720p. I currently use windows movie maker, and tbhh, i'm not satisfied by both the quality and the frame rate.

Would be nice if someone with some knowledge about this stuff could help me to know hhow to record in 720p 40+fps
