Very interesting to see great aim and sometimes placement mixed with unfamiliarity with the game. It looked as if GitzZz was using a very low FOV, might be an idea to raise it a little while learning Q3.

It takes a while to find settings you are comfortable with. And in Q3 you have momentum that you have to account for when aiming, unlike UT2003.

You could put the best aimer in Q3 against GitzZz in UT2003 and have GitzZz destroy him aimwise.

It is all about what you are familiar with.

well.. at first i tried to play q3 with a low sense of course. but strafejumping (at least the way i do it ;p) is similar to a work out if you play maybe 20 mins ;D. and its actually really nice to play with a high sense. turning around 2 times before shooting a rocket in the enemy`s face is pretty fun =D.

no, the other way around, you can start a series of strafes making one circle jump and then only strafe jumps, without having to move your mouse :D

I was pointing out that not moving the mouse after the accel jump will actually prevent you from building speed even further. Obviously it is not the same kind of movement (else you wouldn't go far)

strafejumps needs the mouse too (ie if you want to gain speed), you slowly turn the mouse in the direction you strafe... that's the way i use it and i think you gain a lot of speed (if there are other ways i missed, tell me). like if you go on ra jumppad and want to reach 50h but kinda fucked up the beginning, you really need to move the mouse :P

well gizZz plays damn good as being a newbie.. and he's having fun as far as i can tell eventhough he loses :) that's what i miss in the real-quakers world..
the other guy ends up fearing his victory so he keeps on fraggn this cool ut player with lots of respawn fraggs..

I do see why you changed. Doom3 and eventually Q4 will have a closer movement to Q3 than ut2 does I guess. Hell, I don�t see ut2 surviving the upcoming games in anything else than CTF where it is really awsome.

I mean the air control in cpma is better than osp

you can bunnyhop in cpma and in osp you can only strafe jump. It's too clumsy in osp :/

I used to love playing cs with bunnyhopping and winding up servers :)

maybe we should all be forced to convert to vanilla Q3, since most would hate it, there would be no conflicts about what sucks and what doesn't... or something.
I've found that i think it's funnier to watch newcomers playing, since they still have some kind of individual style.. which i think dissapears for the sake of whats the most "used" style for the time being - so GG Gittan, i guess ;)

I was very surprised being fragged by gitz twice in the beginning. I stopped playing q3 1 1/2 years ago ( played ut2k3 in the meantime also ) and so i thought playing him would be easy and funny :D
That was the 2nd. match i played since 1 1/2 years. The first was vs gitzz also, we ended up 12:11 for me i think.
Gitzz really has great aim though playing a different shooter.
