It's a very good mouse even for today's standards, granted with low dpi and malfunction speed.

well in the last few years the average mouse sensor got a lot better, so WMO now it's a little below the average

I've found <10€ mice with Pixart low-end sensors, working definitely better than the honorable WMO:
* higher DPIs
* higher max-IPS

BUT THE SHAPE!!!

That's not all factors wich are important. Shape of course is one, weight and weight distribution is very important, build quality as well, but above all WMO has great lift-off distance on most pads and input translation described by many as "raw" meaning it does not correct the cursor trajectory much, it translates it as accurate as possible.

Don't get me wrong, I switched to newer mice 1 long time ago but I can still objectively see the many benefits this mouse brought to the table.

- Low malfunction speed/Low perfect control speed
- High inputlag buttons
- The worst cable in the history of mice
- A mousewheel so bad and overly sensitive you had to use a script if you wanted to use it in QL
- 125hz, wasn't stable at 1000hz and overclocking was a pain

WMO has always been the most overrated mouse, it has always been terrible from technical standpoint. There were much better products, even 10 years ago.

The only 2 positive things about this mouse were:
- Shape and that's purely subjective
- Price because people are cheap

The 125Hz was a serious downside for sure. I think it ruined one toruney for cypher iirc?

But keep in mind this was the first gaming-grade optical mouse (with microsoft's upgrade from 2000fps to 6500fps).

I was playing with the original diamondback back then and switched to Salmosa/Abyssus like you. All mice have a flaw even today and those mice were no different but they weren't collecting them like the WMO :p

Anyway predicting one of these will be true:

-awkard shape for WMO claw mode players
-weight distribution is shit
-cord is annoying
-click of buttons either too smooth or hard
-liftoff distance not good

winz what do you think about the gpro wireless? Sounds like the perfect mouse (fixed the weird shape, no delay, lightweight, no bs).

My opinion is that it's a technical marvel and there isn't anything to really complain about, the battery is long lasting, the buttons feel great, the weight is fair, the inputlag is unnoticeable if there is any.

There is nothing wrong with it except for the sensor apparently moving back and forth when plugging/unplugging to recharge it so you gotta be careful with it but I don't think that's an issue outside of that.

I still won't use the mouse though as I much prefer the grip/control I have over a shape like MX300/G1/G3/G100S, it just feels much better. it's a shame because I really want to like it and use it.
It feels like there was no risk taken regarding the shape whatsoever so it doesn't feel bad but it doesn't feel great eihter, it's uninspired and feels like the most standard shape out there. Just not good enough for me when I can still use the G100s shell with a top sensor (buttons feel a loooot better on the gpro wireless though, so I want to change eventually.

There just isn't any proper small and light mouse on the market, it is however flooded with those large uninspired shapes :<

Did you try the Dream Machines DM3 mini? Not sure it's smaller than the G Pro but it certainly have a different shape in comparison, no side buttons though.

No I haven't but saw it a while back, people were complaining about the cable and the overall quality of it but what put me off the most (cable can be changed) is that it just looks like another ZA13ish shape which isn't bad but not as comfortable as G100s, imo

Personally don't care about side buttons, never used them, always found them awkward and impractical to use on a FPS, losing your firm grip on the mouse.

The sensor is placed way too far backwards.

The cable is just about the worst I've ever tried.

Other than that, its a good mouse, imo.

From looking at pictures the G1 and the G pro are a damn close fit tbh.

Nah they only look like they're close in shape but they're not at all, the grip on the G Pro is awkward due to the sides being curved and in V shape.

I ordered this one from Korea to try, it's supposed to be a G Pro replica with much better sides (they're straight) and it has a top sensor. Someone on overclock describes it as the best G100s replacement there is.

I'll probably try this one as well, the sensor is crap but I hope the pcb is interchangeable with the A660.

Pretty cool if the pcb indeed is interchangeable :) Keep us updated. That ABKO Pro with a 3360 sensor for just 39usd seems like kind of a bargain.
