It's the same one.

Sens 3.25, m_yaw 0.018 at 400 cpi is 39 cm/360. That's the base sensitivity, but his mouse accel is only 0.1, and with mouseacceloffset 5 it doesn't start up for a while.

That's some low sens if you ask me.

its already a good hint to see you mention that it doesnt kick in at 5 but what determines that in that number? is it related to what sens you use? etc

When cl_mouseaccel is non-zero, It works roughly like this:

Degrees =

[m_yaw (Sens + (Accel(Velocity - Offset))^(accelPower-1))] * MouseCounts

Mousecounts go in, degrees come out.

When m_cpi is 0, velocity is in counts per millisecond.

When m_cpi is set to your mouse cpi, it is in centimeters per second.

When m_cpi is 0, you can convert a velocity value to meters/second with the following formula:

[(Velocity * 1000) / (CPI / 2.54)] / 100 = m/s

So for example if you want to know how fast offset 5 is on a 400 cpi mouse:

[(5 * 1000) / (400 / 2.54)] / 100 = 0.375 m/s

It's hard to find a reference for how fast this is. I found kind of a lame video here of some pool cleaning machine that is going about 0.3 m/s.

With an offset of 5, as far as the accel code is concerned your velocity is 0 until you reach this speed, and so it adds nothing to the sensitivity (no accel up to that point).

There are some limits. The result of Sens + (Accel(Velocity- Offset))^(accelPower-1)) has an upper bound of cl_MouseSensCap when it is non-zero. Zero means no limit.

The result of (cl_mouseaccelPower-1) has a lower bound of 0. Imagine the mess of a negative accel power :-)

Velocity and counts may have a lower bound of 0, although shouldn't be necessary as negative values don't exist. What negative velocity means is a strange philosophical question :-P

Here's a cleaned up version of the config.

I took out the defaults, and all the junk sets/vstrs/aliases/unused stuff.

The previous version was 1,667 lines and 62.3 kB.

This cleaned up version is 204 lines (including the 6 I added for information purposes at the top) and is only 5.87 kB.

No cvars were changed.

You've deleted over 1000 cvars. I know the config has a lot of unused scripts and cmd's which don't' have any effect, but you surely left out a lot of "valuable" commands. How did you get rid of so many and on what basis? Did you throw out all the cvars which had the default value or smth?

It's doable, my autoexec is around 320 lines and that's with many //comments, scripts, etc. Plus I still had stuff like snaps in it. I'd imagine you could go even further and delete any cvars where you use the default value.

Autoexec gets executed on top of the standard qlive configs. So I don't need to have every cvar in there, just ones that the values are different from default and/or I do not want changed no matter what.

I remove the following:

A. Cvars that don't exist in QL. This includes misspelled cvars. cf_, ch_, and chaos_ are easily removed sections.

B. Cvars that are default.

If you are curious, you can simply reset defaults via the website (obviously back up your own configs first), exec the cleaned up cypher config, and then do a writeconfig name.cfg and examine it. It will write the majority if not all of the default cvars in it.

This is easy for me to do since I have all the defaults memorized and I check semi-regularly in case they are changed.

C. Sets/aliases that don't appear to be in use judging from the binds. For example if I see vup and vdown bound, but I don't see v_up and v_down, and there's a whole section of v_up v_down definitions then I know I can remove that section. I am careful for sets that are part of the operation of another set.

D. I (usually) remove unaliasall as it is buggy.

E. Size up/size down + = binds. Nobody uses these and they add 4 lines of clutter. I also remove bind pause "PAUSE" if I see it for the same reason.

F. I remove g_ , ui_, server, FS_, gt_, in_midi and in_joystick cvars. When cypher starts playing with a joystick, I think I'll know since it will definitely make headlines :-P

When this stuff is removed you are left with the part of the config that actually has an effect as well as being clean and readable.

I've been doing this for a long time and have done it for many different players.

I don't think so since many things over the years could be verified through screenshots, photos, videos of him playing and interview answers.

All the garbage that's in it does feel like trolling though. I mean there are almost entire configs in there from fox, czm, and noctis. There are q3 cvars, q3 cpm cvars, outdated quake live cvars, a ton of misspelled cvars, multiple volume adjustment set/vstrs, repeat set/vstrs, special mod cvars, cvars from quake1, and some that are downright strange and hard to classify.

However if you can see through all the junk (there's a lot!), all the settings check out against other evidence.

hmm no, i just measured it on mine, and at least it is above 430dpi on a black qck that is.

I have a WMO and a Kinzu V2 at 400 dpi. There is only a little difference in speed.

To get a full 360° on my Razer Goliathus/Qck+ i need a sensitivitty about 2.7 with my Kinzu and about 2.6 with my WMO. For 270° its 2 with Kinzu and 1.9 with WMO.

I think the difference is caused by tolerances in the production of WMOs and not because there are 450 and 400 dpi sensors.

i measured it using "mousetester"(http://www.overclock.net/attachments/18914) and a ruler.

So how's the crossair ? When I try the config I see nothing but my crosshair, only yellow instead of cyan, probably because of my weapon presets I'm too lazy to delete. Guys i did a format and fresh install cos i was still getting crashes from this config and apon opening the fresh game and exec cyphers config i got this...

I tried his config and got a shitload of accel, but seeing as someone found in_mouse "-1" I guess that would clear things up.

i executed his cfg, but it appears only a little square of 800x600 because of his r_mode 9

But when i saw him playing at Qcon or dreamhack it was fullscreen 4:3

You should have the scaling mode set to aspect ratio. In those videos it wasn't completely full screen if you look at the right and left edges you see that they are black even on the screen.
