Q4MAX FPS Problem (11 comments)

Ive been having some fps issues on Q4max recently, which is odd. 2 days ago I changed some stuff with my cfg and later tried it.I had steady 125 fps. Today its a steady 91, which is weird. My friend has the same issue, except that he has 93. Whats the cmd for maxfps? If there is one? Other solutions?

I am pretty sure that in Q4max, maxfps is different on each server, I remember some servers even had a voting option that allowed u to choose between duel90 and duel120 (they were listed as gametypes).

I loved quake 4, are there people playing duels still?

Yes =). Go to "Rail Frenzy Duel". Its a serv in DE which is quite populated during the evenings. If you go on there and wait for about 5-10 mins you should get an opponent!

Max fps is a serverside cvar, not client, so yes, the servers will dictate what fps the clients run at.

60 was the games default, and various servers online may run with higher values.

Ic. I noticed that I had hgh ping spikes when I was playing. Now that I have steady 40 ping the fps is abck at 125.
