60fps... did you try downloading it also? There should be no difference, all youtube videos are cut to 30fps anyway.

Thank you everyone, this is my second quake video and I had no prior video editing experience. Next video is a longer term project with perhaps better frags but similar (ish) editing style. I know this is a "different" type of fragmovie, less stress on the frags and more on the image.

Any demos for a future, more "normal" fragmovie can be sent to [email protected]

It doesn't matter if you stress the image more than the frags, what's important about this style by watching this is that I can tell you have quake flowing through your veins, I can tell you love quake. It instantly reminded me of this. Combining this with your creativity and movie making skills, naturally great movies will follow.

If you had seen the demos I had to work with...

...you would be impressed there was that much content...

But I agree, this style of video is not for everyone. I could have just filmed all clips ineyes and put them to music and stopped there...but I would hope some people appreciate the focus on every aspect. I personally feel there is a lot more to a movie than the frags.

well, u wanted to make this small movie by yourself, so the demos u had is not my or anyone else's problem except for yourself.
normally, intro is +-10 sec for less than 1min movies, +-30s out of 5mins, and >1min out ouf >10min movie.
u just expect some action in this video like fucking jam in a bun, but what u actually get is a negligible pipsqueak. and that is sad ;(

I understand you want to see some hardcore frag action...

I was approached by WingBlader and asked to make a movie for him and his two friends (one sadly had to pull out) - they are just guys who play for fun and had collected demos over a while. I liked their vibe and said yes. I set out to make a video that shows off the game itself as much as possible, not a stock fragmovie. As a result I made what felt right and built up nicely. I'm sorry you felt it was boring. Hopefully next time with my public fragmovie I'll receive some more demos and be able to put the "jam" in your bun ;)

exactly what quake is potat said...he understands what I have made :) I didn't aim for a stock off-the-shelf fragmovie, and I didn't end up with one either.

your right. but didnt you feel anything when watching. it creates a mood. some bad fragmovies i saw creates nothing. theres a place for aestetics in quake.

if you dont like the music in universe hunters thats okay. what else is more subjective than music. i have nothing against clichees + recitates if it fits and is well made. example defrag movies and dubsteep. btw saving private ryan started the whole wk2 games which im glad for :>

Though this was a project focussed (in my mind) more about the visuals, I wanted to keep the frags above a certain level. If I'd made it that extra 2 minutes longer in my opinion the level of frags would have made it much less enjoyable to watch. And the power of the music would be lost after restarting. Thanks very much for your comment though, really appreciate it :)! New (massive) project on the way.
