dont need to blame the game, Q43A fixes everything, and recodes everything else with specific server and client side netcode that only runs whats need on either with gives the better performance, and allows for all the other new features to be enabled in gameplay with no loss of FPS, even vehicles

This might be true, but when i tried Q43A it were some weird settings out of the box. You died of falldamage if you jumped from upper platform on longestyard down to the lower ones. The rockets did like 50 ups. Didn't feel like a quakeplayer had made the game.
The netcode might have been good, but there were many other things that the mod lacked.

the latest and last version, has Q43A launcher to make a config file and start listen or dedicated servers, you just have to balance the si_rocketjumppower with the si_playrunspeed cvars, and then dodge and strafe scales

when you launch the server, the config file is dumped in Q43A folder or you can save ir off

That's the problem, that kind of configuration should be done by the dev. The end-user should just have to press Start to get into the game, ready to go with all settings set.

you can make you own server configs and damage sets for Q43A until you find the right movement and weapon/enviroment damage. to use on your server matches

none of you play it pubilcly, Q43A is banned from q4master server and will never be listed,. you dont have to have your servers listed on q4master, you can just set the cvars to ""

Q43A is the only quake 4 where listen servers fully work with no bugs and glitches, and just start your own local server which is`nt a dedicated and your playing game is the server like in quake 3

if you have a Q43A dedicated server and want people to know about it, you have to list it manually on http://www.quakeservers.net/quake4/

q4max is a few tweaks and gametypes, it still has all the original bugs and shit netcode of retail quake 4, just like all other mods for quake 4

no hitscan have been replaced with a projectile that has a default speed of 10,000, which on a long shot is and looks like a normal MG shot impact delay, you can override the speed with a setting in the projectile entitydef

the physic work the same as player physics, if you ping goes above net_clientMaxPrediction, the game freezes, and you are lagged, when the game restarts and your ping is lower then net_clientMaxPrediction, physics get resync from snapshot and updated,

if the projectile is still live and not impacted, it will just warp to its new physics origin

normal hitscans have no physics and just use a trace point vector, and cannot be updated with a new origin, when they are fired server and client side, they will both do different things

id are lazy twats, who couldnt be assed to fixed the bugs, so just removed all the features that used the code

and its a unified source, code on 1 file, and build 1 source, for SP//MP, windows and linux, you dont need 8 different dll/so`s to make it all work, just the 1 on each OS
