Although, i do use it to get fast updates on some video bloggers and (e)sports events i'm interested in.

I watched all his 7 tour wins ... I am a cyclist and endurance athlete myself ... lance even won an ironman this year, too bad this doping affairs prevent him from participating at the world championship ... would have been really interesting how well he'd do there ...
he's a person of interest for me ... but still his tweets are not really interesting to me ...
anyway if you are not into cycling, I can understand you have no relation to this guy ...

twitter is shit. especially when you compare it to the chinese version.

its been 1 year & twitter still hasnt copied the chinese version. i guess the code design must be too shit to incorporate it~

chinese advantages:
- embedded pictures & videos...twitter is only just starting to embed photos but you can to click something. on chinese u see a mini image then can enlarge.
- can say more (cos its 140 chinese characters instead of english). on the odd occassion i use twitter i usually have to send 3 messages on average with "..." at the start or end
- you can secretly follow. some stalker shiz
- you comment on the actual person's post. @at'ing them back is homo. i dont want my followers to know i support riley69
- they have groups. 1 of the groups is where beautiful girls all post photos of themselves...another reason embedded photos is so important
- easy access to these photos. theyve stolen facebooks new style where you see the 5 latest images at the top then can click a link to view all photos theyve posted in messages (good for perving)

you are right, embedded pictures/videos are really lacking,
I think twitter is going to be replaced by facebook somehow ...
I mean if you make a like of some page on facebook, you also get regular updates with embedded videos/pictures

its not a fact that facebook is the only one that can replace it, but the fact that they are getting away with such performance, twitter at the time it is is kinda funny really, no sign of embeded pix/vids today well to the fact

I appreciate twitter exactly because noone spams me with stupid shit videos or pictures. I only see what's relevant and can filter the content better than on social networks like facebook.
I see twitter more as the modern RSS, rather than as a social network.

if you followed levelup you could watch the videos embedded (but change to full screen). it lets you filter by groups too so you could have a bunch of people where u ignore their messages (although why even follow them then...)

pictures make it a richer experience. although it still wouldnt save the boring shit carmack spews out~ "A “static analysis” tool for art assets would be useful – look for t-junctions, near-degenerates, tripled edges, interpenetrations, etc"...the fuck is that shit

twitter and facebook are shit

Twitter is only good for updates and news. E.g. <insert website> is down for 1 hour, or <insert game> version 1.3 will be out tomorrow, etc.

But like Cityy said, it's just a modern RSS feed for me.
