K, finally bought the Asus n53s.

Tried Q3 with edawn, everything maxed out. With "high performance mode" (CPU at 100%) i had pretty stable 125fps.

About to try QL now, will report back (expect a worse performance given how shitty QL can be randomly in some computers even if they are far capable of full fps.. i hope it works at 125fps here)

Btw, Is there anything I need to know regarding Win 7 64 bits?
I have questions about:

An equivalent of the .reg file to get rid of the default mouse acceleration in Win XP is needed for Win 7?

Is there any problem with overclocking your laptop's USB to 500hz? I had no problem with the desktop one, and this computer is even more powerful. Will it fuck up my small notebook asus mouse that came with the laptop?

Is there any advantages in pluggin your mouse into the USB 3.0 port?

Don't want to potentially fuck up my brand new hardware. Also I don't know what .reg files to use, and hidusfb is not working on 64bit W7

Hidusbf is working perfectly in win7-x64, I'm using it for years without any problem whatsoever.

1) Raw input. Also there is some sort of CPL/Cheese mousefix out there for windows 7 by now. I don't remember what its called anymore though. Google is your friend.

2) 500hz usb port is not going to fuck anything up. Its a USB polling rate, its not exactly rocket surgery.

don't use the usb3 for your mouse, bad idea. set your usb hz to 500 for a usb2 port and you will be fine :)

My laptop is quality and I haven't tried it yet. If QL gives me poor framerrates, it's because of it's bad coding and not because of lack of hardware power.

It's all good.

Another question:

Are all the laptop panels this shyt? I mean it looks decent but being used to my Samsung 2233rz its such a downgrade. I expected 60 hz, but it has a very limited angle view, and the colors are kinda off. Im right now in ZTN and it does some weird shades on the colours.

Okay, what i noticed is those poor shades on some colours got better when I was windowed and they get fucked when I maximize. Whats going on?

What came to my mind is that r_deptbits and colorbits were 16 and not 32, but they are 32.

100 percent cpu usage? Your laptop must be hot as fuck even with the best cooling: laptops are not made to run on 100% for a long period (at least thats my experience!)

also: use usb 2.0 its fine. fuck 3.0 its not gonna help you with the little data the mouse is delivering. if you go for 1000hz its 1ms so whatever 3.0 can do, it wont be better.

laptop plus crt or lcd works fine as a gaming station. ive been using it for years... just get ur favorite keyboard/mouse and hf. i also use an external cooler for my latop so it does not go beyond 80�C! it recommend that if you have heating problems (which you will sooner or later have).

btw does it even have dvi? it looks like it only has vga.

Ok heres another problem: The gamma restarts itself randomly while im playing, every like minute or 2 aprox. What happens is, shit goes darker, so you have to change the gamma value (if you are using 1.2 for example, you change it to 1.21, then to 1.2 again). I've tried XP compatibility and so on, same happens. My screensaver is not active (shouldnt be a problem anyway because im constantly using the mouse and the keyboard). Wtf is going on? It happens with ezquake.exe aswell.

And anyone can tell me how to fix the color in Q3 fullscreen? (the palette looks weird, like when you use depthbits 16 and colorbits 16, you know that off-feel to it in the colours, but im using 32 and 32). It looks like it should look when i go window mode. Please whats goin on?

I've updated my nvidia drivers.
