move 9999 screenshots to another folder so that screenshots folder gets empty?

Well i've tried this. Every 9999 screenshots ends up about 40 srconds of footage. I wouldn't mind doing this way for recording a match but every time I load the demo again to find my spot to revord, I noticed that all the explosion and some other things are different every time you play a demo and you notice these things when each section clips onto the next.

Can you provide additional information, such as, what operating system and version (some Linux distro, Mac OS, a Windows flavour) you are using?

Which file system is your hard disk (respectively remote locations) using (NTFS, FAT32,... and so on)?

I don't see how this will really help since its a Quakelive thing. Quakelive itself seems to be coded to prevent it from going over 9999.

I haven't heard of this problem using wolfcamql.

Thats because wolfcam has a file limit of like 9999999999 or something. But ya, I don't want to use it since it looks like Quake 3 still.

I've done some tests with quake live capturing at 200fps and putting it on youtube at 1080p, it looks smooth and beautiful (especially since youtube is capped at 30fps). If someone can figure out and/or convince syncerror to change the file limit, it would pave the way for better quality videos.

They did, it's called Wolfcam, since Q3 has a darker, better look than QL.

Q3 looks old and blocky, QL looks more crisp and cleaner.

200fps is unnecessary unless you're doing massive amounts of resampling or slowmo or something. Cap at 30, render at 30, upload at 30.

I agree that the 9999 cap is annoying, but since QL and id are so suck, you have to make some kind of compromise. Either use wolfcam, and try to get it to look as much like QL as you can, or use QL and cap at a lower framerate.

It's probably possible to move the screenshots as they're written, so you don't need to replay the demo and lose syncing, but the filenames would be messed up, and I don't think QL would reset back to 0 if the file named 1 is removed.

Even if I did capture at 30fps, it would still not capture a duel in one sitting. Anyway I find changing to 30fps from 200fps looks smoother. :>

But ya, moving files out while it captures doesn't do anything. It stops on the 9998th screenshot anyway. Must be a counter in the game itself.

Lets see if it works :P

Also, another reason I wanna capture on QL is on principal. We should be allowed to do it anyway :)

TBH I don't really care if it happens. QL should abandon any moviemaking improvements, add MVD + demo playback to accompany it, and then just work on important things. Like GTV.

Just use Wolfcam and tweak it to look how you want. Or cap at 30-60fps since 200fps is probably not necessary unless you're doing a bunch of weird artsy-fartsy shit.

Alternatively, you could go full retard and write some fantastically complicated script to move screen shots to a different directory as soon as they're written.

Quakelive will always stop at 9999 files even if you moved them out. Plus its smooth as at 200fps put to 30fps, recording it on a lower fps doesn't look as good

It says you need to find an exe file and works only with ET on the how to. I'm on my phone now so I can't test it but it looks like it won't work with QL.

Though it might with quakelive offline though.
