No, the site is just to give a demo an id.

I have a script, that takes that id, renders the demo into a movie (it's done silently in the background without interrupting normal pc use) and uploads to youtube.

But it's possible to use Amazon EC2 GPU instances and build a service, that would turn demos into videos 24/7, if one would wish to pay 1$ per video :)

thats a cool idea, make a startup company and then maybe sell it to blizzard.

It would be a funny idea to index the existing SC2 shoutcasting and make a fake one for a rendered game:

The same could be done for QL:

The ruby script is just a glue code for the renderer (written in C) and the uploader (written in Scala). You would have to develop these yourself.

great stuff! 9/10 material and v3rb is a top notch tdm player but I have a few complaints about this demo, especially about its entertainment value.

First of all, dont get me wrong, this demo has great educational value, a perfect example of how to hold RA area in ospdm5a and great example of positional control, but the problem is that was all about it, it had really poor entertainment value.

60 percent of his frags came from camping RA in a mostly uncontested room where he would stack up to 150+ and the other team would try to rush in / spawn from all bad positions and be cannon fodder / he also farmed the near gl spawn / he would do the platform to quad area jump, rail a few people and come back or stay for quad if he still had stack.

Everything is great but he was playing according to a team plan and it was working since the other 3 in his team was dishing out good damage and the enemy did not have much of a counter plan (rage seemed to be more interested in quad than anything else, also they were missing juven1le..their damage machine)

On the other hand pov from noctis / linkin etc have much higher entertainment value as they try out things different than the default method.

agreed and v3rb doesnt really hit many crazy shots either, the demo just shows really solid play in a quite unique position that not many teams have like this.
would have loved to have an overview map showing the location of everyone else in the hud

10/10. whenever a player can single-handedly lock down a high priority item for an entire map, it is 10x more entertaining than someone pulling off a few agro quad runs. This replay should be called 'How to Play RA on Deep Inside' by v3rb.

If it had been something new yes. But this has already been done by... cant remember who... but someone in North* against Vikings waaaaaay back in the days. So its not something new just someone doing something old good.
