Well some people need to feed their ego by playing against lower skilled teams. The urge comes from feeling average when they're playing against equal opponents.

However there should be more checking involved with this cup... especially for div2 since there is money involved.

tbh jocko played for zap All in some practice games this year(and he even played with use back in the q3 days around 2002) as well, and since 4K did not play in kuh3, there is no legal problem that he plays with us there. i think he played once or twice in kuh3, and he played for us in cb ca league as well.

also i find it good that he plays with our clan, since we all are from Slovakia, and it only helps us to get bet understanding of the teamplay, and he learns us to play better, which is important for upcoming nations cup.

since we are the only ql clan clan from slovakia, i find it good that he tries to help us, and i wouldn't call it ringing or mercing, if his "hometeam" is not playing in kuh3

still it feels a bit meh when you play a war in the lowest div and you lose against a 4k player with 60:8 stats (or whatever he had on deep inside). its no big deal but its not exactly fun either, especially considering that it could have been a close and interesting game otherwise

Then you need to higher your expectations because what i'm suggesting in some ways, is not unreasonable.

Let me take another example more close to "home"
"We have a 100e zotac every week, 4 a month. So why not just 1x 400e zotac every month instead?"

Or perhaps even better;
"We had gdata every Saturday, and zotac every Sunday, for a long time. why didn't we have zotac every sunday, and 1 gdata every month" - afterall, it was the same people hosting it.

Don't get me wrong though, i'm not suggesting that 1000e is not a large sum of money and that a 4000e tournament is viable. Or that we should scrap zotac every week, because that tournament really does keep the duel community alive. I also think this TDM tournament has come at the perfect time and for that i thank PerpetualWar for helping to make it happen, even if i'm not currently playing Quake Live.

I'm just taking what i've seen from organisations such as ESH and Gamesports previously, and putting my view on preferring a longer period of nothingness for a bigger tournament, rather than regular tournaments with less money and less prestige. Less of them and "more prizemoney" would give better prestige to not only our competitive community, but the organisations behind them too - even if the eventual prizemoney figures are exactly the same had they run regularly - the illusion i almost feel we require, yet miss.

ye good idea, maybe we should like make Leagues instead of cups then 3-4 months you can run leagues like a Premier League or Bundesliga etc that would be much better.

3-4 months is too long time, i doubt there's much teams that'd play that long same competition.

Also there should be powerup drops. If you take quad and then die, it is wasted. But if you manually /drop it, then someone else can have it or pass it around etc. This would be much more interesting, fighting with ur team then dropping quad and having him take over the run.

This is one game of dunno how many. Was the same by me when I played in div2 at Q2 with my friends. I had scores like 60-85 frags at few games, but it wasnt always like that. Maybe vs 2-3 clans in div2. And still since I was a div1 player in our team we didnt won div2 cos 1 good player cant make a difference against a good team play. However, team with 1 good player have no chance in div1. Every game will be a rape.

As for me, TDM scene don't have it anymore... it's really boring to watch most of the matches. I lost motivation, after ESL ENC did only final on LAN instead of Semis+Final, I was really dissapointed, we all (team Russia) played and lost so many time on a PC game, only cos we thought 4 teams will go to LAN. It was my biggest mistake that in the spring of 2010, between hard work in gym and quake live practice I chose last, cos I wanted to go on QL TDM LAN.

Now I'm back to good, normal life, I enjoy my new work, I enjoy playing live poker with my friends, and I back to hard work in gym, I also doing some boxing now. I really happy I don't need to idle in irc and search for a pcw after 21:00 (23:00 in Russia), I really happy that I do not sit in front of monitor 2-3h per day to play a PC game. You can say - "but you still write comments here on ESR". Yes I do, sometimes I have free time on my work, cos mostly I need to fix smth if it crashed. I enjoy ESR cos I think there are many smart and interesting persons here, I also think that mostly this webbe is for nerds who don't have a normal life of a cool dude, but not all users here are like this. Also I like to improve my english skills here, especially gramma. I do watch movies on english, it's not a problem for me, I also understand all lyrics in all the songs I listen to, but still I can't write in english without mistakes, so I like to spend my free time here, also I always loved to communicate with foreigners.

Now about your favourite topic: Frontline dropouts. Me and Cooller desided to make TDM 4v4 team, also Cypher wanted to play with us, we also called Silencep, me and Anton did't know Kyle, but we where impressed by his TDM skills. Then Av3k joined. Nowdays Cooller, Av3k and Cypher don't play TDM at all. Cooller and Av3k also not active in duel. Kyle went inactive for all summer, now he is playing with his friends in GANK, and he is having fun I guess. I quited TDM completely ~ 1-2 month ago, cos: 1. I don't have time on it anymore 2. I have old PC and I'm sick and tied of playing with 80-100fps 3. Cooller/Av3k went inactive and Cypher have 100ms ping on european servers so he can't play also 4. I did't get prizes from ENC and ESH, I think it's really stupid to spend so many time on a QL to be a top player, then win smth and don't get the prizes. 5. I always liked personality in Quake. I mean I loved to watch zyv playing, or deus or labur, or mikes, or ironbyte etc... All this guys have style... Now I have to play against players that I do not respect at all, and I even do not enjoy defeating (or loosing to) them and their teams. I really don't have positive emotions when I win or looser to nerds.

Yes we dropped from many cups(leagues), but not from all of them. We played many good matches and win many good teams more then once. Also as far as I remember we won all the ofic. matches vs XT (more then 5 I guess) But ppl here have short memory... I hope zcn will find good active players and they will join new FRONT lineup for 2011. abso, wit, dash they all are gr8 players in my opinion, and they can do good in 2011. As for me, I don't know if I will be able to play QL again, at the momenet I don't want to play, but no one knows what will be tomorrow!

Please clarify which earnings you are talking about and make sure that you have sent in the correct forms in order to be able to get the prize money. I personally make sure that everyone who raises a question gets an appropriate response within two working days concerning their prize money.

However I haven't received any emails or messages from you concerning the prizemoney to alert me of any outstanding issues, how am I supposed to help when I do not know you require assistance? In short, not only better teams but more disciplined teams (Days are/will be known so it's just a matter of discipline and agreement between players to be available for game days) will have greater chances of winning then the rest who might end with a bunch of def-losses.

I recently heard from one n3 player that CL from c4 lied about thrawn and west - he said that they aren't same ppl who were in Team Poland : DDDD

I know that probably Avek tried to make a team with Tox1c and probably me for this tourney but it didn't work out dunno why.

I'm asking myself where are our teams and even players, we always had 1-2 good teams and now we dont have any. I think we just lack of players like Thrawn, Nergal or Kaboom - they weren't amazing players but they were able to mobilize players and setup everything like it should looks. Now we dont have even a captain for Team Poland - I don't know did you see, but players who signups for captain are guys from COD4 and they never saw Quake before probably :DD

Overall these groups came out pretty good. Its hard to please everyone since everyone thinks their better than they actually are. :P

Is every team in div1 a pro players team?
NO ffs, there should be max. 8-10 teams in div1, and the rest should be in div2. Be honest there is maybe only one group where more than 2 teams will actually battle to advance to the playoff's.

Almost half of the teams in div1 has completely no chance to advance to the playoffs, and there gonna be no fun in playing/watching games where one team has more 100-150 frag advance.
and it doesnt matter in which group they would be seeded.

Other "fun" fact is that in div2 are teams that actually beat those from div1.. crazy

I'd say that a team like druidz (div2?!?) could pretty likely win against teams like Phn, baeh, ah, 2k, act, D9, n3 (all of them div1!).

some mediocre teams are put in div1 in order to get raped, but others are in div2 and have a real chance to win some prize money.
