Anyone got the Razer Armadillo 2? (25 comments)

Got one recently since I had the opportunity to get it real cheap, but this is the second time I RMA it and it comes with the same problem: Apparently the people who mount em (chinese, how not) forgot to put the non-slip material at the base. This:

Instead, there is a hole in the middle of the base, and it's just black like the rest of the object.

Anyone can make some pictures of his Razer Armadillo 2 (specially the base) so I can show em to the idiots that sent me a fucked up one two times in a row?

PS: Also, did it come with no instructions at all for you aswell? Not as such a simple thing needs many explainations, but it just feels empty. Not even advertising of Razer mouses like they always do?

PS2: Are you having problems adjusting your cable on there? Im using the WMO and the cable seems too be too tight on there. It didn't fit easy, I had to push the cable with my nails to make it fit. The fuckers probably designed it for Razer mouse that I imagine have thiner cables. Anyway having the cable a bit tight on there is not a problem.

can you post a picture of the ones you sent in? i don't have "non-slip" material as a base but it doesn't matter as the thing is fucking heavy. on the other hand i do not have a hole in the base either...? :)

had to push the cable a bit too, doubt that matters in any way though. no instructions or anything else in the box, not that i cared tbh.

what the hell, that is pretty fucking far from what it should look like. you're missing like half the stuff that should be there (the base)?

my armadillo is built like this:

a huge massive base making up 3/4 of the whole thing with a primitive cord holder on top and a hole in the mid where i can screw the top part in to secure the cable.

I got Armadillo 1 and it has no base and hole in the middle of it.
Which might be basically same as A2 just different.
You have got to get facts right if they sent you with no rubber base it means they dont have any of rubber base A2 stock.
A2 needs thin cable A1 doesn't need thin cable so it fits fine on A1.
Sent A2 it back get refund and get A1 which is way better than A2 as you see customer testimonial on their website.

It is a feature, you are paying for it. As I said, I don't see two A2 versions, one without the nonslip material, and other lacking it, that should be cheaper. The point is you are paying for something that isn't there. If you get it without that material on the base it's clearly a fraud and not normal. What the fuck.

About the A1: I've heard LOT of people talking about how the material really really sucked and after some time it started to deteriorate badly. Apparently this doesn't happen with A2. Also it's a pain in the ass since you have to use an screwdriver to fix the cable.

i heard they did not use stainless steel for the A1 and people in high humidity places started to complain after a while.

forget about the non-slip base, the point of the armadillo is its weight and simple design.

if you insist on rubber material forget about the A2. i was disappointed aswell but in the end it doesn't matter: it works, it won't break and its rather cheap.

I do. Why? Because I paid for a material that isn't there. Do you know that if Razer didn't advertised and officially constructed the product without that material, the price would drop considerably? That means you are paying for something that isn't there. It is not a matter of "oh but it works anyway" but a matter of ethics. People like you makes capitalism work at it's finnest. The most rotten it is the better it functions.

And to answer question 2, yes some cords are a bit too thick, namely the WMO cord and other braided cords like the Steelseries Xai though not as bad as the WMO. You can make them fit but adjusting it is a pain in the ass.

It can mean anything its just the way you understand it.
Its like Razer made 1000 A2 and they forget to use rubber base.
Those retailers whom you buy A2 has 100 A2 from that stock. You might replace another one from same retailer. But whats point all 100 he bought has no rubber base. Do you know what I mean?

Its your luck. Its manufacturing defect. It can be anything. flowrush above was lucky and got rubber base A2. I have A1 from 2 years with no rubber base and it works fine and no sign of deteriorate on mine. I dont eat or drink near my pc so nothing get damage.

Buy it from other seller or straight from Razerzone. If you are not satisfied but Roccat Apuri or other mouse bungee. Plenty of options are there for you.

Yup most likely defect (well probably a programming error forgetting to use a rubber base on the next production run). I ordered mine directly through Razer's online store using a Razer voucher that I received due to, ironically, a defective Copperhead they sent me which was replacing a defective Copperhead. Since they wouldn't send me another without me paying to ship the mouse they just gave me a voucher to buy anything from their online store. If I were you I would put in an RMA @ Razer online (I assume your RMA was through the retailer you went to not Razer direct) and either request a proper replacement or $ voucher towards something else. Razer is infamous for manufacturing defects, this is nothing new. Steelseries used to sell a Cord Holder but appears they don't anymore so you're best bet is the Mouse Bungee.

Yes, I know what you mean. But I don't understand why should I simply deal with it. Im paying for the product, the entire fucking product, what their advertise. Im not going to give up until I get the product with 100% of materials that are supossed to be there, and I will not pay a single cent more. So I will send the pictures of flowrush displaying the actual, correct base, and i'll send it to my retailer. I'll specify that is the correct looking product, the one I payed the money for. I want THAT, period. Im not going to give up. I'll force them to recognize it's wrong to sell shit, and i'll force them to get me a brand new one with rubber base directly from Razer if necessary, not paying an extra cent. They are fucked, bullshiting with the wrong customer.

Ye you are right mate. You shouldn't get something else and they advertise something else.
But its not fault of retailer anyway. Retailer didn't made them at home and selling you as Razer product. He is just selling what he got from Razer.
Just get money back and buy it from Razer.

I used this for years. When I removed the adhesive base, it was all fucked up and full of shit. There are marks on the table that I cannot remove. Also it looks pretty retarded when someone comes in.

I prefer my room to look clean and tasteful instead of ghetto rigging everything anywhere I can. Also $20 isn't much in my book, considering you can always adjust it, take it to lans and it works reliably.
