So even I know that if you have the flag and you're going through RA on C8 with an escort, you expect to either meet heavy opposition from rail or from RA. 9 times out of 10 it will be RA.

He's definitely hacking. Kgb's always been rather blatant to anybody who has played against him online. He came to prominence during an apathetic period in the NA q3 community years before the transition to quakelive. In fact he was a known hacker as early as 2002 when he went by the name of m3-fly. He was caught many times back then and sort of went away until 2005. Everybody knew he was still hacking but nobody cared to take the time to expose him again. He would brush it off by making continuing humorless references to his hacking. He's a totally different player on lan in terms of prediction and aim so still... nobody seems to bother. I, myself, don't care what happens but this is rather humorous.
The clip on dm6 on the '6 previous matches vid' at 1:52 is rather damning evidence and comical. The following dm7 segment at 2:45 takes the cake.

Also there are a number of famous pro players (outside of quake) who have been caught cheating who have also been to lans. Bottom line is there's no way to prove he has or hasn't other than just observe his lan style of play versus his online style of play.

Oh man, I know I shouldn't be taking this seriously and it's not like I bother with QL anyways, but I'm bored, so I'll give you a reason to feel stupid:

1) At 0:20, he hears someone railing his teammates from above, and looks behind him as he goes up the jumppad. He turns far enough to the right to see the archway where the railer comes out, and there just happens to be two enemies behind the adjacent wall.

2) At 0:27, he hears an enemy to his right and also hears an incoming rocket before he can even make it to the opening. Considering there were two enemies, his teammates could have easily been attacked by either of them nearby moments before and called their locations on Vent.

3) At 0:45, kgb has the flag and...oh wait, who's that I see shooting the enemy? It's his teammate who's right in front of the enemy above kgb. Unless his teammate is either mute, stupid, or doesn't own a mic, he's going to tell kgb there's someone nearby. You fucking idiot.

4) At 1:17, it's not like I know the map because, again, I don't play QL, but it looks like they're near mid and I'm guessing this is a common choke point on the map. Also, kgb has the flag -- of course he wants to play passive and avoid bad positioning when he could easily get bombarded from above. That way, he doesn't even have to know if someone's above him because he will be able to run away unharmed either way if he's prepared to. Good habits: kgb practices them. Chances are you don't.

5) At 1:49, I wish you didn't add music to this video because this would be a lot clearer, but he sees clamp shafting him. Naturally, if both enemies had shaft, considering they're both part of a top-tier team, they would both be shafting him from that range, especially if he's all alone. Based on this, it's a safe assumption that only one enemy has shaft on hand. He hears clamp charging him, but then he suddenly hears another shaft far away. This can only mean one of three things:

A) The enemy without shaft is charging, and he's hearing the first guy shafting from a distance either at the stairs or at one of his teammates.
B) The enemy that was initially shafting is charging, and the other enemy had shaft equipped after all.
C) His teammates are shafting the enemies.

Considering A and C both involve his teammates being around, and B is the least likely scenario of the 3, I think it's safe for kgb to assume his teammates are now nearby, and thus, he has a chance at capturing the flag in the middle of this battle now without having to retreat. Jones doesn't need to know where kgb is for kgb to feel confident that he's being supported by his teammates at that exact moment. Situational thinking: kgb practices it. Chances are you don't.

Also, jones' inconsistent story can be blamed on a lot of things that have nothing to do with kgb. Maybe jones remembers things wrong. Maybe jones is confusing one situation during the game for another. Maybe jones is just stupid. The fact that jones came up with three different stories is far from enough evidence to convince any smart person that kgb was indeed using wallhacks to figure out he was able to charge back up the stairs at that point.

All in all, you're dumb, sir.

Cliffnotes on Quake 4 getting nerfed by community:

- Quake 4 comes out, hitboxes "bigger than America" according to forever

- 1.3 patch comes out one year later. Game is faster, shaft is weaker, rockets become more dominant. Large hitboxes are now quite necessary to keep the game playable, especially online. Otherwise, the game is pretty much perfect on LAN.

- Community goes "HURR DURR, WE NEED SMALLER HITBOXES" anyways

- id implements cylindrical hitboxes into 1.4.0 to replace the rectangular ones that were originally used; thanks to community's crying, the game is even faster than 1.3 and hitscan weapons are even weaker

- Tons of bugs and physics flaws accomodate new hitboxes; people suddenly start to realize they expected too much out of idtech4 (note: Q3 still uses rectangles. As for QL, I don't know and I don't care). People can suddenly slide or jump up a ramp and gain ridiculous air and speed, which fucks up the game.

- 1.4.2 is a bit of a gong show now since not many maps were made from then on to accomodate the ludicrously fast pace of that patch, but at least it's playable online thanks to cg_unsmoothclients and is still more fun than Q3 or QL,

- 1.3 was so much better than 1.4.2 is, but nobody realized it when 1.3 was the latest patch and now they're on to bitching about the next latest game after ruining the last one.

As for the brain comment, well, I need not elaborate on that.

It is true. WRI almost lost at Quakecon to Loaded who they were 8-0ing a week before Quakecon online (3 maps, came down the last seconds). They then almost lost to a pug team which included griffin, sparks, dkt, rapha (some of which had never even played certain maps before let alone practiced together) that also went into 3 maps and 2 overtimes. They also won vs us the week before Quakecon in an online match in convincing fashion while the Qcon finals vs us was 4:0 2:1, and anything but close.

Walter hit the nail on the head, their team strategy is focused around KGB being the roaming man who is left to pick up all armors and power ups of his team at will, and then go in as the over stacked power player. However, on Lan, his aim is significantly worse across all weapons and his positioning as well as game sense of what all 7 players are doing is nowhere to be found. The difference in skill in truly drastic. Aim can be explained by Quakecon having a different setup (chairs, monitors, height, table) but strategy, decision making, positioning, and logical choices should still remain the same IF not get better to overcompensate for having lower accuracies. With this guy, its not the case...in fact its the opposite.
