Agreed, not a day goes by that quitters don't spoil my games. Besides I fail to recall so many ppl doing that in the old days of Q3. Wonder if id can actually do something about it, seriously hope they will.

you could consider doing it similar Heroes of Newerth and add a setting where players may set how high the duel quit percentage of the opponent may be.

And if it's higher the opponent can't join the server or something.

In pq3dm6 u have 2 equally skilled players, but one of them gets the lucky spawn and the other one at sg.1st one takes both mh/ra,rail,shaft etc.Now how will u steal control!?!?If u try to force it he will just nail u on his shaft and kill u collecting free frags and stuff like that...so the first chance to steal an item is at 3:00/2:55 if items were picked on time right!?And even if u get that mega it doesent guarantee u that u will kill him for sure, u just got an item and thats it, he is still fairly stacked better than u!Now u maybe manage to get an initiative in 3rd cyclus thats after 6mins right!?When ra/mega spawn almost at the same time again...

now im not going to look for the demos since theres shitload of the examples u can find urself...but do watch zilich-amai on ztn(the only recent i remember).U see amai killing zilich pretty easily making 16-7 lead up to 8min, then something changes...zilich gets the initiative and he starts collecting the rest of the items making a nice comeback to 14mins making the score 15-15...

And thats why 10mins make the game unbalanced...then the lucky spawn gets even more obvious, not to mention the movement which is a lot faster in ql then in q3 making it even easier for the player with initiative to rush for items.Mid-game is too short and if u want to have it balanced 15 is just the right tl, or the item spawning should be changed more faster like 15/20s so its more random giving the chance for other player to sooner get a chance to steal items!

both scenarios are in ql, though and one is with tl10 while the other has a fictional tl15.

but u cant say that a player that gets first control is the same way strong(stacked with items) at 3mins than he is at 8mins.U see I said at 3rd cycle the other one gets the initiative or they are not equally skilled and the 1st guy is much stronger...

I mean at 8mins he must be really weak and low with health, if he is not and he is still in full control with 150/100 or even 200/100 then its obvious that he is much stronger than me and he is not equal player.But if he is equal to me and the tl is 15, then I have enough time for a comeback while in ql he can just sit back and wait...

No I disagree with that, sure there scenarios where he is very strong at 3 mins, but it's also possible that he is at 200/200 after 8 mins.

Btw, I do agree the spawn advantage is obviously bigger with tl10, which can cause some people to rage about it and /quit.

But from a technical viewpoint you have pretty much the same chance to win at 3mins in tl10 as at 8mins in tl15. And that is what I was saying.

your reasoning is very dumb. people don't quit after 3 minutes if they think they're better since they have 7 minutes to come back. Q3 had more ragequits if anything.. then the lesser players had to sit through 15 minutes of spawnrapes but not only 10. You obviously didn't play q3 at all if you think this "phenomenon" came with 10 minute duels.

i've noticed that too... total noobs stay on. the ones who quit are the ones who think they're awesome because they can do bridge to rail and can time a few items.

It is true that some people make it a habitual thing, which is fucking lame, but fuck them anyway. However often times the person just decides to stuff it and quit, it is a game after all.

ragequiting is healthy, its our bodies natural response not rly, but its cool if you quit but dont leave the game, just rematch.. and keep qutting untill you have a good start and then its ussually easier to keep control, this way you learn your mistakes faster

in left 4 dead versus mode, rage quit is default. sometimes a dude cant even ragequit because hes kicked from his team after 1 fail action.

rage quit is annoying for sure, but standard in all games.

i dont get any noticeable rage quits but then again i pretty much only play 1 guy in 1v1.

end of server leaving annoys me though. I join a tdm and its full...map ends & everyone leaves...JUST STAY, K?!?! one of the good things with ut2k4 as people will be in the same server for half the day
