WMO ftw. using an icemat here, never used a cloth pad so i cant give you a comparison (not a fan of friction). i can tell you that it feels very precise and consistent at high speed compared with my old plastic pad (e.g. doing flicks and things like that), but is also very easy to move at a low speed (the plastic pad was low friction, but at low speeds friction seemed to be a bit higher).

the cons of the icemat that some people complain about dont bother me at all (eg thickness of it, need to keep it free of crap, and not suitable for fat people with sweaty hands)

on the other hand, your personal style/preference etc is probably the most important thing here.

until i change my mouserate to 500hz, my game felt choppy and jittery when i looked around with my 1.1, even with steady 125fps
changed to 500hz, now it's smooth as glass when i look around.

get icemat and hyperglides, you'll never look back <3

Yep same here. Black superman w/ a WMO. That's roughly $20 plus 7$ = ~$30 for imo the best performance in an fps. Amazing the amount of money people can save if they stop and think instead of buying into all the propganda of more expensive mice.

If memory serves cypher uses cloth and fox definitely uses an icemat. Really it depends upon what you prefer. If you do cloth, it tracks great on any, but personally I would recommend an Allsop Raindrop XL. It works really well on an icemat as well, but I would recommend getting some hyperglides and wearing them down just a bit so it tracks perfectly.

This is basically my setup, but with 3.0 instead of 1.1a. Hyperglides (not fully worn in yet) with Allsop Raindrop XL gigapad @ 500hz.

Definitely not a bad setup. I've used more than my fair share of mousepads in my day and I always seem to keep coming back to Allsop cloth.
