look out for a player named q3- Ifall_frag

blatant walls and aimbot, terrible movement and map navigation, idiotic positioning.

normally i wouldnt post about it because the guy really is an awful player and only barely beat me because i was lagging out throughout the game, and anyone that has ever dueled against me knows im not really any good at it. the shit that he talks and his complete disregard for the idea that he's gonna get banned kind of annoyed me.

Publicly accusing someone of cheating is stupid.

What you should do is just make sure you're recording, play your best, and in a few spots try to do things that would amplify the appearance of their wallhack/aimbot or w/e. Then send the demo into support, but watch it first to make sure it's clear enough.

If you cheat accuse them they're just going to try and hide it better and they get a rush because they're getting a reaction out of you.

Pretty much.

Such posts only alert cheaters what isn't the way to go.
You have demos, you have QL support. Send traffic their way so they can ban this motherfucker if he's hacking.
The end goal is ban, remember this. We try to make life as hard as possible for cheating accounts. Alerting them and giving them publicity only boasts their ego and attention whoring needs.

they try to ban the people who went out of their way to piss on sync's toes. Daddy comes to mind? Other people were not banned even though they are/were cheating in painfully obvious ways.

"obvious" is relative.
if you have to decide to either ban a suspect cheater or not you want to be 100% sure that the guy is cheating.
i once reported a cheater myself and was relatively sure he used WH.
but if i were in the position to make the final decision i would not have baned him since i wasnt sure, simple as that!
and i think even the smallest doubt is enough to not ban someone.

apart from 2 or 3 cases i never saw any cheaters here in europe.
some of you act like you cant even play because of the thousands of cheaters.

the id support form on the quakelive homepage doesnt work for me at all. the captcha phrase doesnt even appear on the screen, so when i DO try to report someone, it doesnt go through anyways.

i'd rather the players who cheat be publicly ridiculed and put in the spotlight until everyone knows better than to play with or against them, and the ban as a side effect of that.

thats just my opinion. if he wants to cheat, let him run out of people to play with/against. that would make it pretty difficult to enjoy the game, no?

You can always mail support manually, [email protected].

Could also try a support ticket through the web site (log in and then gear -> support).

Lastly it's hard to ridicule someone who is a nobody and may be using just a throwaway account, and also in a place that the average joe doesn't read.

Lol, I beat him the first (and only) time we played and he was so flabbergasted. Seemed like he had good aim, but nothing in the way of timing or positioning. Can't watch the demo at the moment but i didn't see anything blatant...not to say he isn't cheating, but I didn't see it yet.
