free software to monitor jitter (1 comment)

Is there free software to monitor jitter I experience to game servers given their IP? Ping plotter is nice, but the jitter feature requires a license.

Does it make a difference whether I use a 3.0 or 2.0 port with an optical mouse?

wrist pain from fingertip grip (78 comments)
Posted by crash23 @ 08:19 CDT, 13 October 2014 - iMsg
I'm currently using a logitech g100s with a fingertip grip. My wrist becomes sore and sometimes painful after playing for an hour or so. I've only had this mouse for a week so I am trying to change my posture, grip, or even the mouse to prevent further damage.

Is it possible to use this style of grip without wrist / arm pain?

I use a medium sensitivity (18 cm/360 no accel), my wrist does not touch the mouse, and my forearm does not touch the mousepad. I have noticed that I squeeze the mouse when trying to track or flick. I believe I am tensing my hand too much when I play. Could this be causing the pain?

I bought an abyssus about 5 months ago. It worked flawlessly on my talent for 3 months and then I began getting insane jitter. It isa LoL edition.

Has razer made a statement about this issue? Does using the razer drivers solve this?

Keyboard without numpad (17 comments)

What's a good keyboard without a numpad? If there are mechanical keyboards for under $60 without numpads I'll consider it, otherwise I'd like a cheap, durable keyboard.

Switching from palm to claw. (49 comments)

I'm considering buying an abyssus because my current logitech mouse is dying. I've spoken with two friends who use claw grip who tell me they are unable to play quake for more than an hour or so before their hand / arm gets very tired. I'm wondering if this is connected to their mouse grip.

Post your experiences and what grip you have :D

Deathadder or Abyssus or g500 (16 comments)

I believe my g5 is dying after two years and it's time to buy a new mouse. I'm considering the da, abyssus, or g500; I use a puretrak talent. I've done some research on the abyssus and I've read there is / isn't sensor problems with the talent. Does this mouse work with the talent? If it matters I use 450 dpi and 500 or 1000 polling rate.

I'm considering the da because the general consensus is that it's a good mouse for any grip. Which version has the best sensor?

I haven't read much about the g500 because I've read negative reviews about its prediction, shape and weight. If you have this mouse can you comment on these aspects when compared to the g5?

Shoulder pain (31 comments)
Posted by crash23 @ 04:29 CST, 2 March 2011 - iMsg
I've been playing quake live for a few weeks now and after a few hours of play I notice my shoulder being very sore and almost disjointed feeling. I use palm grip, low sensitivity, and I rest my arm on the table when playing.

I'm not sure how I can fix the problem. I measured my desk thinking it may be too high, it's about 28 inches tall. My chair is about 25 inches from the seat down.

I think I'm tensing my shoulder when I aim because I recently switched to a low sense. I like low sense and palm grip but I don't want to continue to have shoulder pain.

Anyone have similar shoulder problems?
