Brand new Logitech MX518, HELP! (12 comments)
Posted by Lan-Di @ 12:27 CDT, 21 October 2014 - iMsg
Hi,

So about a week ago the right click of my MX518 (2nd gen) died. I refuse to buy anything different then a MX518, for me its the ultimate gaming mouse.

So i went online and found a few so called 'brand new, but in bulk packaging' MX518's on eBay. I bought one but for some reason it feels different, smaller. I'm guessing this guy just rebuilds G400's or something like that, buttons are also black instead of red. Then i bought a used MX518 (1st gen) but since its used the buttons don't click at their best. I tried cleaning it but it doesn't help.

So my question is, can someone help me find a REAL brand new MX518 or sell me one if you have one, both 1st and 2nd gen are fine (preferably 2nd gen since I'm more used to it.)

(left) 2nd gen MX518 = up to 1800DPI
(right) 1st gen MX518 = up to 1600DPI

Best LCD/LED replacement for CRT? (10 comments)
Posted by Lan-Di @ 15:49 CST, 1 March 2013 - iMsg
Hi,

The moment is there... I'm going to replace my CRT.... I'm looking for THE BEST LCD/LED monitor replacement out there. I've been searching and reading reviews everywhere and a lot of people are recommending the BenQ XL2420T, yet it has 2ms and medium / low ghosting.

I don't know a lot about monitors because I've always been using CRT's and wasn't interested, but now its time. Please give me some advise on which is the best of the best.

I'm going to use it for FPS gaming (mostly Quake xD). Whats important:

120Hz or higher
low ghosting and input lag
low ms
max 24", rather 22"
budget: €1500 (about $2000)
*Matte would be awesome but not a must.

Thanks :)

In game response delay (73 comments)
Posted by Lan-Di @ 14:30 CDT, 30 October 2011 - iMsg
Hi,

Yesterday i decided to install Windows 7 (for battlefield 3) for the first time ever on my PC. I've always been on Windows XP cause its AWESOME!

And its proven again cause I'm typing this thread because of Windows 7.

The problem with Quake:
Somehow theres some kind of very annoying delay while playing. When i shoot its delayed by like half a second, maybe 0.75 second, same goes for all other binds. When i purely listen to the click of my mouse and the response of the game without looking at my screen, its clearly off. Its playable but it doesn't feel smooth at all and it for sure influances my play negative.

What i tried:
Running the latest nvidia drivers, full pack installed
Running the latest nvidia drivers, just graphic drivers (no 3D or physx or updates drivers )
Running tweaked nvidia drivers, just graphic drivers (no 3D or physx or updates drivers )
Running firefox in Windows XP mode
Removed openAL software
Cleared as much processes as possible ( already nearly had any )
Set processor affinity running only 1 CPU
Use refreshlock, didn't work
Googled for Quakelive delay, nothing came out of it

I really feel like going back to Windows XP, i've been completely annoyed all day long, please someone give me an anwser!!

Thanks,

*Edit:
I also turned off all 3D settings for firefox in nvidia control panel ( antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, texture filtering etc )

*Edit2:
Solution:
I was not satisfied with the results even after trying all kinds of settings given by tips and help below. My solution is dual boot, XP - WIN7

Thanks for all the help!

Posted by Lan-Di @ 09:54 CDT, 6 July 2010 - iMsg
Hi,

I'm a collector of Quake items and my collection is allmost complete. At the moment i am searching for 2 VERY rare Quake large boxes. Its the Large box of Quake 4 and the large box of Quake gold.

I'm not sure if the Quake Gold large box even exists but i believe they had some on gaming events in the early 2000's.

Does anyone have these boxes or know a place where to buy them, online/offline, anywhere!! Please let me know!!!

Many thanks in advance,

Would you compete in a Tribal CTF league (17 comments)
Posted by Lan-Di @ 14:20 CST, 25 December 2008 - iMsg
Hi,

I was wondering if any of you would compete in a q3 league for the mod Tribal CTF. Its quite an old mod which was first released somewhere in 2000 or maybe 2001. Please let me know if you would or wouldn't compete in such a tournament and why.

About Tribal CTF:

Tribal CTF is a totally new and fresh approach to the standard CTF concept. Its foremost characteristic is its 3-team CTF based gameplay mode. The classic Red and Blue teams have evolved into three unique tribes that each sport their own characteristics and unique looks. The graphical setting of Tribal 3-team CTF is of a beauty found in single player games. The tremendous atmosphere of environments, structures and terrain ensure a whole new CTF thrill.

Q3amphi rebuilds - lanphi (11 comments)
Posted by Lan-Di @ 12:30 CDT, 20 September 2008 - iMsg
Yesterday i released 2 rebuilds of the well known map 'q3amphi'.

The first rebuild (lanphi-1) has water instead of lava. Now you won't get hurt by the water but its still harder to aim from the water.

The second rebuild (lanphi-2) has a few minor changes. The most important one is that you can walk out of the lava instead of jump out of it.

At the moment both maps are availible to play on all Keksfabrik servers, all Okidoki servers and on team DS-Gaming server.

You can download both maps here:
