Maybe because a deleted post cannot afaik, not be brought back. While a nuked post, can be un-nuked. I'm not quite sure about THIS perticular post since i did not look at the original post, but thats the reason i usually nuke posts instead of deleting them.

uhm, no. If there are other comments from an inflammatory post, then it should be nuked. deletion is for replies with no comments, simple as that.
