Sadly i am starting to depart from this website and from Quake. I really really loved this game. The thing that is really left in me is the hate for Quake Champions. Really.

Hate this abomination that Quake Champions is. They really killed it. The introduced the new era of „Quake“ where from now in numerous other wannabe game designers will start to puke and shit in the franchise. Quake will never be again. Diabolical is not my thing. Quake Live is dump down of Quake 3. it will never be the same again. This is my last manifesto.

Honestly eggbots may look silly but the game is surprisingly fun and addictive, if you have turned it down just for its artstyle I suggest you give it a try before making up your mind. Beta servers will be up again this friday and the game is only 15gb so HF!

yea i was really turned off by the artstyle and thought im not gonna like it, but i got a key so i decided to give it a shot..

i boot up the game, set my resolution, sens, binds blabla.. i jump into the practice mode thingy just to get a feel first before joining any matches, and dude i just ran around shooting things for like 40 minutes haha it do be fun like dat

Art style usually influences how one feels when one plays a game, and how you feel when you play a game is important, unless you are only concerned with what affects winning and losing.

I see three types of people.

(1) The rather unusual type of person who does not care about art style or graphics at all. These guys play Ultrono Arena. :D

(2) The kind of person who thinks type 1 is hardcore and therefore cool, so he pretends not to care about art style or graphics.

(3) The kind of person who admits that those things matter in a game. This is probably most people who play games. I'd say even most people who played Quake appreciated something in the style of those games.

idk i like serious games, like the sexy dark atmosphere of q3 and diablo 2.

i dont enjoy games like overwatch, with the silly over the top characters, and voicelines that make u feel like ur watching a kids show on tv, waiting for dora the explorer to pop up :)

diabotical is fun tho, the gameplay feels right.. i liked it.

that pretty much sums up the desperation of the dm community to not tell the truth ... truth be told those lacklustre robot models and the lacking art style in the maps are not really immersing you in the game ... what I can tell already now is frags are much less satisfying in diabotical than in qc ... combo kills mid air rockets just feel great in qc ... in diabotical its not much different than machinegunning a guy ...
you could just play quake live instead, the engine might be worse but the graphics are much more appealing and the gameplay is very similar, the maps at least on par or probably better ... but what is quake live lacking, any mod missing there? any map missing there?

Yes. Play QL with picmip 6 making walls brown and pink, shooting fullbright green keel enemymodels jumping around with ridiculous sounds. Much better!
Or, maybe not.

The Diabotical RL needs more work. So? Many people have already said so, it needs more punch to be satisfactory. It's not rocket sience to tweak it some more, pardon the pun.

Going from ql to dbc, it makes alot fun and I will Stop playing ql when dbc will Release and the Community is bigger then ql. Wich is already now in closed Beta :-D I think its heading in the right direction.

it is sadly that i happened because not every good company goes belly up in their lifetime but it is totally possible since people are apes and apes do stupid shit from time to time which has no explanation. i remember going through all of this many times like when they released quake live and then completely shitted over the community with lack of updates, we should have known back then whats going to happen. if community is 1000 players total i think maybe we should be thankfull that they even released a product or even quake live. i am not sure what can save it at this point since its a cycle at this point for devs and community to shit on one another until both run out of energy or money and then both of us loose, but no one seems to care at this point.
