it depends on how much of a mess your cables are under your computer desk and behind your TV, or if you clip them to the wall without checking if a main power cable is behind the dry wall

throttling is'nt that bad. its bad if your speeds drop to 0.5Mbps like mobile phone connections, 2Mbps most people can live with it unless its a shared connection,

alot of throttling is down to BT being cheap and not buying enough wholesale broadband of the ocean fiber pipes which then gets a backlog in the buffer, and your internet speeds slow or just die, like when the olympic games were in london and the whole country was running at ISDN speed

my current netgear router settings fail most of the time, or they are slower

and its straight back to the same results when you go back to the free talktalk router

its best to use the talktalk router for the first 10 days, while they mess around with the DLM or whatever they say they will be doing, before you get tweaking

steam downloading is probably capped and throttled to 1.3MB/s

it should be 2.6MB/s if 10Mbps like on 3G

its just a constant 1.3MB/s and nothing much else besides at the start of a download

find out when i get back from work at 3.30am

can't be bothered to find out if its actually slower then 3's 3G, the only thing landlines have better is constant numbers, but 3G download speeds of physical files from mega and steam are twice as fast

besides that, they are exactly the same down to the ping
