I actually bought it, am currently playing through the campaign and I think it's fine. Though I never played the original (or SC2) apart from a little dabbling into terran campaign like a year ago, so I'm genuinely a stupid noob and don't know what I'm talking about. But it's much easier for me to get into it now that it's not a blurry mess anymore (which classic mode looks like in fullscreen on a modern 1080p LCD to someone who hasn't played it since 1998). What's wrong with it? Graphic stuff, like how the zerg buildings look awfully cell-shaded and not organic at all? The SC2-ified spec hud?

No, things wrong with it are that mostly all new features ain't working. Or at least weren't last time I played (2 months ago).

For example, a lot of people couldn't even switch to remastered graphics without game crashing. The ladder couldn't even count wins properly. The ladder, profile, etc didn't work more days than it did work. They removed a lot of useful chat commands, etc. The list goes on and on and on and on. :D

And not to mention that they promised matchmaking to non-remastered users and then set it remastered only on launch afaik.

oh, yeah, there is stuff like that. Just remembered, if I place a shortcut for the battlenet.exe on the desktop, launch it through that and then start starcraft from within the app, it crashes immediately ("Starcraft has encountered a problem..."). I have to navigate to the battlenet executable via explorer, launch it from there and then it works. Initial reaction was like "Seriously?". And many other people have the same problem.

As I payed 30€ some month ago, 22,50€ seems a legit price for the game.

But there are cheaper ways, the AMD codes for full champions pack are still being sold at very low prices.

Adding the extra health, general movement changes, along with the NG being a starting weapon which now hits like a train was a desperate, and cynical attempt to noobify/randmoize the game to get more people in by falsifying their performance.

I actually thought it was quite decent before the DEC patch but its clear the direction the game is going in.

Think I'll install the enhanced graphic pack for GTA V and go back to mucking about with that as I only want a game to amuse me for about 30 mins a time, twice a day so I can switch off from whatever else I am doing.

Maybe its time for vets to move on.

i bought it because i felt like the december patch finally pushed the game into the right direction. runs much better than the closed beta too. enjoying random tdm carnage for now. the new maps are ok (other than lockbox, fuck that map). they'll be changing the duel format, adding new game modes and also work on the hitboxes in the upcoming updates.

Randoms fine when playing a game for casual fun, not so much when you're a relatively competitive FPS player whose supposed to be playing the pinnacle of FPS. Nigh on two decades into a franchise which was once the standard for all FPS.

Was hoping for something a little more pure.

remember q3 test? that wasn't much of a "competitive" game either. i hope they keep improving QC because at its core it's a decent game. different, but still fun and still very much quake-like. i was very turned off by the closed beta netcode / game experience which is why i didn't buy the game until a week ago or so. but like i said, the recent patch definitely pushed the game into the right direction and i'm looking forward to the upcoming hitbox system, duel mode changes and overall improvements.
