It works the same way a forwarded sensor gives more horizontal distance. If the sensor is on the right side it "rotates" earlier giving more horizontal distance for right aiming.

I'm still not convinced. To me the movement that the mouse picks up is purely determined by the distance between the sensor and the wrist. You can affect it by moving the sensor forward/backward, but moving it to the side has almost no effect.

I didn't think it would make a big difference either but then i tried this weird grip a cs player called JW uses - http://i.imgur.com/NhMDaOJ.png (and i think clawz too) where you put your index and middle finger on the left button. I noticed i could use a -0.5 lower sens @ 400 dpi without any sacrifice in rockets and i presume this most likely has to do with the sensor shifting more to the right due to the grip. I also noticed right flicks were much more easier now like i could do an extra 90 degrees.

Probably the best way to increase horizontal movement is to use a vertical mouse, you can bend your wrist up and down a lot further than left and right. Only problems are, there are no gaming vertical mice afaik, and you don't know if you'll actually like holding a mouse vertically.

I was going to talk about this too. You can easily make any gaming mouse a vertical mouse with this grip - https://u.teknik.io/uEbyp.jpg . Only problem is it makes vertical aiming harder and also long distance aiming is less precise but being able to use a -1 lower sens @ 400 dpi without any sacrifice in rockets makes up for the latter. What's more is that i noticed if you have more wrist distance, you have more wrist speed which equals faster flicks and with faster flicks i don't even need to use accel anymore to aim well with rockets because my wrist is my accel in a strange way. Also i have tried putting a blu tack on the mouse scroll so i could keep my current grip + put my middle finger on the mouse scroll to imitate JW's mouse grip and get that extra right mouse movement and although it helped me use a lower sens without affecting my rockets it completely screwed up my lg because it didn't feel natural. I think the only way it could feel natural is by having the sensor located on the right.

I bought some generic vertical mouse from Amazon yesterday, I've never tried one before. Going to see what its like :D

ppl handle mouse wierdly to compensate for stupid sensor placement which every mouse have, its not about X or Y or Z axis placment its about sensor needed to be rotated a bit to the right, for some reason they think puting the sensor paralel to the mouse shap makes sens, it does not. Just palm grip the mouse, and se if you can draw an horizontal line with eyes closed. Result = ur line is going to go down to the right, if you rotate the sensor a bit it will be perfect horizontal.


ofc if you put sensor upper front it will move more with wrist move but less with arm move so its not realy that good depending on ur sensi. 99% of the time its going to be bad because :
with high sens you dont want more sensi for small adjustments with wrist, and with low sens u are fucked because it will require much much more arm movement to do a 180 while small adjutement will have higher sensi.

only reason to put sensor to the upper front would be if you use accel then it could be amasing.

i still wonder why mice comapgnies all make same mice.

3360 sensor has the option to adjust the angle, so you don't need to rotate the actual sensor. Not sure how many mice allow you to do it in their software though. But I will have the option on the next Ninox mouse :)

I would rather have a sensor well placed or a mechanical switch to rotate it rather than a software. I dont see how a software processing could be as accurate/raw especialy because it already process angle correction. Could zdd input delay.

Mechanical is probably better, I think theres some potential downsides or difficulties with it though, like increased weight, and more moving parts might make it more difficult to keep the sensor still (or simply, adding one more thing that can eventually break).

The calculation done in the sensor might add some delay, and might not be as raw, but it needs testing, it might be negligible.

Ok i was wrong about JW's grip. It doesn't change anything after some more testing. I am still pretty confident about my sensor placement theory so i'm going to buy a g9x tomorrow and play left handed because g9x sensor is on the left side and see if the mouse rotation is more equal for both mouse directions.

If you can move your wrist much further wouldn't it make sense to put the sensor on the left side to even out the total distance you can travel with each side.
