Its just that removing the weapon model would give a pretty huge advantage - don't think they are intending for ppl to be able to do that.

It's essentially like an option in the menu. Clearly if they did not want people to do this, they would not ship it with the game.

So does anyone actually know what isLowResParticles does (or whether it works)? Screenshots please.

Are there any values of WeaponZScale that move the weapon without hiding it completely? I've tried high values, small fractions and still can't detect it working except negative values hiding the model :/

Yeah, it's cheating, or rather - stealing! You're supposed to pay $20 for the QW RL which doesn't take up 1/4 of the screen like the default one.

I believe you would need to try WeaponYScale to 2.5 or something to center it.

No such setting though :(

Meanwhile, I found out setting very high values (like --set /Config/CONFIG/WeaponZScale 80) hides not just all weapons, but also the LG shaft (somehow rail is not affected).
