Zoomed HMG even after the nerf does 133.3 DPS (6.7 less than LG), so it is quite strong at the sorts of ranges you'd be using LG at. And when you have the quad, it is doing 40 damage per bullet (half the damage of rail with 13.3 shots per second), so it is great for picking off targets at any range.

Everything is better with the quad... Also because of the spread you do a lot less damage, and you're easier to kill since you have to zoom in;

I've just never found it to be more useful than any other gun, in any situation.

It is ridiculously OP IMO (unless it is meant to be a top tier weapon).
The spread isn't very great. And if your aim isn't spot on, the spread can actually help. If you're in a big open map like Burial Grounds, it is great with Quad because you can hit people from any range. You don't have to chase them down like with LG, and it is much more effective than RL or RG with Quad.

I seriously cant see where you're coming from, ive always found it to be weak, although I do think you're right about it being more useful in a quadrun, its not something I found useful at all.

It is hands down better than SNG, which has got to be the worst weapon in the whole game. If someone is standing right in front of me, it won't hit them.

Right, hmg is not the best in any ranges. But more than good in any situations. So you can instantly react to several ppl in several ranges without wasting time for weapon switch. Best weapon for quad. Even without quad it's still really good.

What Captain is saying is very easily testable. Go anywhere where the visibility is straight passages and you will clean up like lg only wishes it could. have lg for short range and hmg for med to long...and with quad game over lol

Nailgun performs better in straight passages, LG has higher DPS and covers the normal engagement distance in the game... really not seeing it
