ELO is as only good as the amount of data it has to work with. i.e. you need a large player base before your ELO system can operate well.

If you're the Quake elitist, you're attempting to sound like, then more newbs should only make your job easier at climbing past them.

If you're butthurt now, then there's really no hope for you. This is technically the 6th iteration of Quake, not counting all the mods. This happens every time. I get it, you love Quake X, I've been there, but you have two choices when the next generation comes around; get on board or just keep supporting the old iteration that you like.

OP is an idiot, but if they can manage to keep skill groups together (forced matchmaking algo for the main modes, minimize alt accounts, vac,...) then the player retention will look better.

Didn't help QL was pretty much only a mod from a 15 year old game.

Not sure why, but your post reminded me of during the new to steam phase happened and so many new players raged that they had to pick up weapons/armor. Why can't we just have it, they cried!
