While doom can't bunnyhop, he makes up for it with his faster straferun ability, and to take advantage of his limited auto aiming the shotguns does additional damage as do other bullet types

We had some pretty awesome 2,5D sound in the golden days (A3D2), they just took it away (actually Creative made id to do it), but yes, something like what Frostbite3 has would be really a must (the sound of idtech6 used in the new Doom not gonna cut it imo)

SPONGE: Basically a giant sponge with legs that has a donut ability. The donut ability works by tossing donuts at your opponents untill they get fat and collapse from heart failure.

2. Anton Cooller. Special ability - he drinks bottle of magic vodka and spawn giant bear for a 60secs.
3. Maciej Av3k. Special ability - green smoke screen than toxicate enemies with mouse inversion settings while @ in smoke radius
4. SombrA. Special ability - guess urself.

I really wish there won't be many of them. 12 is already a lot. This is what put me off overwatch the most; I can't be arsed to study and remember each character and their abilities. Well at least with Quake Champions the different characters only have one active and one passive (I think) but still...

I'm genuinely curious, what makes you unwilling to learn 20 heroes but willing to learn the quake movement with all its obscure minutia? I learned what each hero does in about 20 hours of OW, I still can't half-beat to save my life after 3 years of 2 hours of Quake daily on average (in my defense, I mostly played flight sims with air control)

Well I never practiced half-beat and certainly wouldn't be able to perform well with it right now. Anyway, I have no issue with practicing my own skills. It's about anticipating what the opponent will do. With Quake, right as you start, even if you can't perform it yourself, you know what the movement system allows. You know that the opponent can go from A to B fast or rocket jump. You know that he can use the lightning gun the exact same way as you, etc. You can already blame yourself for not predicting things correctly, something you can't do if you just don't know the different abilities of the champions/heroes/whatever in the opposite team (or your own!).

How should I put it? It's like memorizing instead of developing my analytic abilities. I've always hated that at school.

The model itself isn't just cosmetic like in Q3A/QL so the hitboxes are probably gonna fit the models instead of being the same across every hero. I guess this is gonna be one of the things to balance.

You mean like tank, healer, dps, etc. classes? I think they want to avoid that. It's not supposed to be a class based shooter.

They are on great path by having healing totems, tank with shield and squishy Anarki.

Well we don't know to which extent they will differ from one another yet. It's certainly gonna be way better than Overwatch in that regard. We still need to know about health/armor, movement speed, passive and active abilities...
I'll probably end up playing Quake Champions regardless of how many heroes there are because it's Quake but this is what kept me off Overwatch.

OW is fine for fun, after that you need a premade team to be fun again at a higher level, but like always it will be more fun playing quake. oooooooo yiiiiiiis, and we are getting new quake!! Cant wait to see the story behind all the champ and how they will play against each other, i wanna see all the different movments and see that they can co-exist in a single game.

Characters and Abilities

Ranger - Sports a throwable teleporter that you can warp to while it's in flight.

Visor - His piercing sight ability allows you to see enemy combatants through walls for a brief period of time.

Scalebearer - His Bull Rush ability allows him to quickly close distance to, and maul enemy combatants.

Nyx - Her Ghost Walk ability allows her to temporarily turn invisible so she can escape, or re-engage an enemy from unexpected angles.

Anarki - Sports a hoverboard, which appeared to make him faster than the other characters. This seems like it would make him the obvious choice in a game like Quake, so maybe there's some downside we don't know of yet.

Galena - throwing down healing totems, that can explode and hurt closeby enemies

Clutch - is slower has more hp and shield to protect it elf any maybe teamm8s from enemy fire.

i hope the active skills are something that you can FULLY control

for example:

when you press the skill key you will have increased speed, armor(like penta) and increased melee attack with heavy knocking off power for a short period off time

i assume with the skill activated you're in control of how, where, when to attack your opponent

i don't want to watch an animation or let my character move by itself for 2/3 seconds as soon i press the skill key
