Time to write a new Quake

We have long worked on Quake Live, we wrote a new good dueling maps. Period 2009-2016 = 7 years of work. 7 years should not be drop out !!!!!

WIN Formula:

New Quake = QuakeLive + NewGraphics + Innovations (+ SinglePleer).

QuakeLive:
-We need to take all the QuakeLive code and simply upgrade the graphics part to the modern level.
-All Dueling maps (in online tournaments) should save all that they have, diagram, proportions, dimensions, have 2-3 texturing variants (1 variant of the textures for the pro) like campgrounds and bloodrun in QuakeLive.


Now the main part:

Innovations = Innovations for PRO + Innovations for NOOBS.

Innovations for Noobs:

-Elo Rating (Glicko) should be everywhere and prevent novice sound the siren of a strong opponent. And do not give to play. Noobs needs less frustration. Moreover, the rating must be recognized by each duel map SEPARATELY. Just players with a high ELO should have the crown on the head in game, nick must be red and radiate
curvature of space and time.

Innovations for PRO:
-Server Must be 100 fps.
-Ability to increase ping on /cv sameping

UPDATE 19.05.2016
-Some duel maps must have super powerups, like Invisibility (duration 2 sec, player model fully invisible, spawns like quad 3-5 times during game), Silence - no any sound from player.
-Selectable spawns http://www.esreality.com/post/2811344/duel-selectable-spawns/ . But i think also about how players choose spawn points during their movement, like proximity mines setup( its Very tactical)
-Of course wall demolition.! You rocketJump and crash wall by your body!! Some animation required! =). Also you can make holes by rocket and hide inside!
-Rockets fly not only linear but also little right or left like some wind move it!
-3 jump states! Little higher, little lower, but faster

With this types of abilities very easy to make a fatal mistakes!

-First of all. This abilities should not be very often in game. Because it can easy make unbalance. Also if it was often - it was bother. Also it easy makes chaos in game(uncontrolable shit)
- Better to make some vars for this abilities as much ass possible to correct it on future,(for players)
-Also this abilities should not be very easy to implement for player. Example fatalities in Mortal Kombat or even brutalities. Or some tricks in Quake WallClimb,RocketJumps.
For newbie It must be like "Ohh!! how you make it? How you train it? What tutorial i must read to do it such fast\accuracy\strong like you?". make it harder for implement! thats the key! More harder=more respect.

Berserk:
approximately : 1.5-2 sec duration. 1-2 times in duel game. May be more in ffa and other gameypes. A good example of this ability in game TeeWars, when you take catana like armor(sword)(also you can make it in air ).

Look through Wall
approximately:1,5-2 sec duration. radius=0.5 lightning distance. Available in last 2 minutes of game. In this time often winner tries to hide themselves(duel). 1 try in 1 min.

FastStrafe:
approximately 2-3 times during duel, And more in Ffa and etc.. May be it depend on distance between players, may be what guns right now, may be how much health you has(all for duel)

Teleport From pink sphere:
approximately: 1 time during duel. It can be VERY big cheat =]

Some thoughts about leaked Quake Champions video

It's not important, but guns models looks childish. Doom guns models more brutal.

game physics looks like oldone. I recommend increase jump max height on 5%-7% ( like in osp-fps-bug-mode). There was some constant in game code ( something like ???_VELOCITY )

inside pink teleport sphere we can see poligonal shit. But its not important

FU***ing promode movement may be faster than usual. How to balance speed difference between characters?

Again. We must have more old maps in QC. (bloodrun....lostworld.. etc...)

From interview with Tim Willits: we need to pickup sand clock for faster regeneration.



From my professional opinion: We need about 50-100-200 tasks in game. Each task gives some regeneration(duel only).


-Air rocket
-Combo(PG+RL , RL+RG etc)
-Hattrick(3-4 frags in a raw)
-Impressive(4 rails)
-Humiliation
-2 frags in a row with Machinegun(or ShotGun or 1 from Grenade)

-We know DEFRAG, so you make some difficult(short) tricks on map(by time or just reach some point on map) and it gives you regeneration

-You control perfectly only 2 yellows on ztn for 2 minutes without your death.

-You not take damage from enemy for 2 minutes.

- You fully blind for 20 secs

-You fully deaf for 2 mins

Each task gives you special amount of regeneration.

No need for sand-clock.


UPDATE 27.03.2017
Just makes gameplay little bit more variety and complex(1x1)

Armors, MH at game start spawns randomly, RA on YA1, MH on RA, YA2 on MH etc. And Weapons =)
