Yeah looks really lame. I remember making maps in the game Trackmania, if anyone remembers that game. It was really simple, but from the looks of it you could do way more then you can in this snapmap. I mean you simply put rooms togheter, thats already made, you cant really call that making a map.

Seconded. I highly doubt that snapping prefabbed rooms together could work to create masterpieces like DM6, q2dm1, q2dm3, q3dm6, ztn3dm1, aerowalk, just to name a few.

It might suffice to make a rough draft, but sooner or later you'd have to launch GtkRadiant to get something actually useful out of those pieces.

making an actual map would take a lot of time, the target audience for doom obviously is console kids and one thing they won't do is invest time in a game unless it's cod or lol.

I am only interested in a quake mod ... any quake really , like q1/2/3/4/Live.

depends... in snapmap i see you have like a resource meter in percentages. So i would presume in simple maps you could easily make a 15 entities. Even now with that video i mention above he had like 1.5 % on demons and there was only like cca. 5 demons on screen.

Good catch. To be honest, I get the negativity about the multiplayer but I have a very good feeling about the single player. I just hope it will be possible to get rid of the brown-ish fog everywhere and give everything a clearer look. But for single player, that should be perfectly possible.

if you ask me snap map... will evolve the MP of doom, not what we saw in coom MP beta.

It will make the multiplayer playable and fun, but it will be nothing like Quake Live. Too many weapons to merge them into a perfectly balanced esport design imo. On the other hand, if Doom 4 does not suck and is open for community-driven content, then there is also hope for Quake 5.
