its about a 5 minutes job to port it from q3 not counting the replacement potential missing shaders/textures etc but im not sure wether i would be breaking any copyright thing or not

Why not put them in the game to begin with? At least put it as a free DLC instead of workshop item so people don't miss it.

And when (if ever) we can expect them to be ported into new update...
IDK whether they need to be "ported" per se, engine appears to be the same, so any old map should be able to be loaded and played. Would help if any devs told us how is it now.
I was too stoned to read update changelog so maybe I'm missing something in regard to maps...or maybe not...
There's also a slight probability that devs decided arbitrarily which maps are popular and imported them leaving rest behind.

steamworks ql uses bsp 47 q3 maps are bsp 46 so they have to be decompiled and rebuilt

bsp 46 can be converted to bsp 47 using q3map2, (just inserts advertisement lump ?) but we need bspc.exe that can generate .aas from vers. 47

So it can be done without decompiling? Do you know the exact switches needed for this?

Batch file with:

<path to q3map2.exe vers 2.5.17> -game quake3 -convert -format quakelive %1%

drop bsp on it. Converted file has "_c" added to name.

I want a Placebo Effect port so bad but I cant find Q3 version to convert. Is there a way to get Q4 maps working in QL?

I was able to convert a map to work with quake live. However, when I load the map it crashes saying:

"Quake Live Error:

sound/garden/water.wav has length 0"


If I delete the entire "Sounds" folder, the map works and I can play it.. however, the custom sounds are not working.

Any ideas?

Converting the wav files to OGG files resolved this problem.
