Why would you think so?

Matches can be on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Sunday matches might drag into Monday (in the European time zone).

Since TDM and CTF should each take one whole day, they need at least 3 days for all competitions.

Of course, matches are going to happen in the afternoon / evening / late at night in Europe, most likely sometime between 3 pm (= 9 am in Texas) and 6 am (= midnight in Texas).

Qcon official rules (pdf doc) say 23-25th for trimaster and 25th for duel. You included Sunday as well, source?

Seems weird because the Grand Master Duel is supposed to be a showmatch and I would expect that to take place on the last day, but maybe it's actually already over on Saturday.

You mean Thursday's matches? Assuming that they start at ~2 pm and end at ~10 pm local time, more than half of Thursday's matches are still Thursday in Europe.

Thursday, maybe a few until it's time for bed and then friday most likely all if you go home early and saturday all as well. This is what I meant.

It takes time and practice to make events run smoothly, including the providing of decent coverage and whatnot. You cannot pick all that up in just 19 years.

This is what i gathered so far:

the games will start in aprox. 2 hours from now.
Day 1: TDM
Day 2: CTF
Day 3: Duel

It's 4 rounds of swiss, each match for each round is played at the same time: given they'll stream only live matches, it's 3 maps per round, for a total of 12 maps out of 96 played. (yes there will be 1 stream)

This is the first round, so 3 maps out of the 12 we'll see live will be rolfstomps.

We still don't know if they'll stream some demos or how the pairings from round 2 onwards will be decided in case of equality in the score.

It's also unclear if the demos they'll provide will be watchable due to the new client being used during this event and there's the possibility the demo won't be compatible with what we have now.

I know this post reads a bit harsh but tbh this is where we are at right now.. Given how dead ql is, i'd say it's already something to have an event with such a massive prizepool and you'll eventually get to see entirely

I never understood why streamers like Zoot never bothered to DL demos from qcon and stream / cast them after the event. You can pick out good matches, there are no delays, you're bound to get viewers since I reckon tons of people are interested but not bothered enough to DL the demos and load them up in their own time. It's a win / win

Edit: Plus you get to see unusual matchups, players are on top form, etc etc. Really don't see any downside to it (and there will be a wealth of demos this year)
