Fallout3 wasn't shit, you are exaggerating. You might say, the engine and its control, or the graphics were shit, I could agree perhaps, but the game itself was "OK", (eg.: it had a nice mood imo, and I personally even had fun playing it.... can't really explain why tho).

Yea, it wasn't superb alright, but whatever your taste might be, it was definitely above a bad/average game, so it was far from "shit" for sure.

The latest doom and fallout dont look any different in gameplay compared the the third sequels to both games. That is, doom 3 and fallout 3, and dark souls 3 is announced. So, 3+3+3= Half Life 3 confirmed?

That Game's kickstarter went by really fast. i'm surprised fans really love that game. now if they have PC ports for that i'd check it out.

the games' "charm" is definitely not the same as it was way back in 99/02(I played 1/2 in 06) but massive scale of the games, the visual quality, and the fact that every single piece of the worlds were hand crafted and interactable just made the game absolutely mind blowing and unreal for the 15 year old me :)

Mario Maker sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Too bad it's a console thing.

Get a used Wii-U. Those are cheap, and the few first party games (like MarioKart) still makes it worthwhile.

For me personally, Doom 4, No Man's Sky, Dark Souls 3, Need for Speed, Sea of Thieves, Just Cause 3, Horizon: Zero Dawn and the Microsoft Hololens are all things I'm really looking forward too.

Tbh the dota 2 reborn update has had me more excited than any of the e3 announcements, apart from maybe some of the VR stuff, but none of that stuff is new. The dota 2 stuff is a competitive gamers wet dream, wish there was an FPS with the same support.

PS. AMD Fury has the potential to be awesome, but the actual announcement was sad, no benchmarks :(

My expectations on The Division got lowered a bit. FA3 looks old. Doom is just blood spraying on the screen. Overall the swtor change of direction was my highlight. Not a good E3.

This is maybe the right thread to ask... Does anyone have info on Steambox? Is it going to be a stand alone console that i can plug into my tv and play without a desktop PC? Any news on whether it will have upgradable hardware etc? Kinda curious... thanks

upgradeability depends on the way its put together (some manufacturers might support it better than others), but in general they are pc's with steamos (and in some cases windows+steamos dual boot) pre-installed. steamos i think boots up in big picture mode so it kinda works like a gaming console, but you can still go back to desktop mode to mess around with it.

thanks. so its probably going to cost as much as a new gaming desktop pc? more expensive than say an ps4 or xbox etc?

a good one with will definitely be more expensive than a current-gen console. the cheaper models are priced around $450 which is still a bit higher than the rrp of an xbox one without kinect i think.
