Hi, I'm sorry to hear that.

I saw that you commented on my first fragmovie, which is 21 minutes long. The framerate (60 fps) and motion blur settings are the same in all the movies I put out so far.

If you saw this in a browser and it was dropping frames (thus making playback inconsistent by seemingly jumping forward/backward in time), then I can somewhat understand the problem. The only other explanation I could have is that you're sensitive to the camera rotating on the roll axis (there's a lot more of that in WAXED than in the first movie). Stable 60 fps playback is definitely not the problem.

i rewatched it, it is definitely the roll axis it instantly makes me feel uncomfortable. interesting isnt it?

At least now you know. And yeah, we all have different, and sometimes weird, sensibilities. For instance in VR, some people can handle going down stairs but not up and vice versa.

why is that movie the basis of judgement for every cpm movie. just cause all your friends are in it dont make it great

Dorftrottel makes contenders editing-wise his bitch. the new gaiia world champion movie has better content, meassured by 2004 standards cpma done by vo0 is at least on the same level. my personal favourite to catch the raw skill of cpm without barely any editing and still getting away with it is bulgarian odyssee.

I agree, I have to admit that I consider Dorftrottel as the more beautiful and best edited fragmovie, even the musics are nice.

But this those not mean that the movie is the best in all aspects. For instance myT's movies are usually very smooth, lot of humour, good frags etc.

There are so many criteria to evaluate fragmovies that you can't actually compare them to each other, they just play in different leagues.

may i ask how you switch from camera pov to first person that smooth? kinda new to this whole q3mme thing

Sure thing!

For the transitions to be as smooth as possible, you want the camera speed to approximately match that of the player's and the rotation speed to be similar to that of the player.

First, you identify the key moments from the first-person view that you want to start and end with. In those quad runs, it would usually be 0.7-1.0 second after the last kill (start time) and 1.0 second before the next one (end time). The exact time you pick will then depend on the view rotation.

Once you've noted the start and end times, you navigate to the specific times in q3mme in the "chase" camera mode and add a camera point. Save your project. Now you can go into freecam mode and start to fill in the rest of the keyframes, and render the stuff at a higher speed than 1 (in WAXED, the quad run freecams basically reduce the downtime in half, more stylish than doing a 2x fast-forward on the first-person view).

Things to watch out for:
- Depending on how you navigate to specific times in q3mme, the animation states of entities won't be the same and your freecam start/end points might be lower than they should be. Rewind like 4 seconds before the time you want, then manually go forward in time until the desired milli-second. If you go back in time, all the states will be fucked up again.
- You might need to do several renders of the first-person and 3rd-person shots: with/without frag messages, hud, items, first-person weapon, specific players, quad/bs/regen glow, etc so that everything looks seamless.
