Sure, thanks a lot :) At the moment it is just the beginning, but we are planning on trying to be as professional as possible with groups for everything, nice logos and channel art and intros etc. before we start anything else.

computer / local disc (C:)? / users / urcomputername / appdata / roaming / wolfcamql.

Make sure you have "show hidden folders" enabled, else you won't find appdata. Go there and delete q3config.cfg and replace it with a working cfg. Should be it.

Which config do I replace the q3config with? I have my custom cfg for the effects etc. and some autoexec etc. but I'm not sure which one to put into the folder to replace q3config, thanks !!

I think if you delete it and launch wolfcam it will automatically load the default one, but not sure. When I first starting messing with wolfcam I got the same problem, and reinstalling wolfcam will not solve the problem since the main folder still exists. You can always delete that folder and then reinstall wolfcam, that should work. :)

Thanks guys, I'm going to try these when I get home, but quick something. When I deleted the q3config this morning and let it load the default one, its working fine, but then I try to run my custom config with autoexec etc. and it then gives me no GUI, even though I can hear my mouse going over the settings and everything. So everything is there but I can't see anything :/

Ok really, I think the problem is with your shaders. Look at line 60+

Try redownloading wolfcam and delete your old shaders. May also be something to do with your .pk3 with the steam update

So, I'm going to describe to you my error.
1. It works fine after I delete wolfcamql in appdata
2. BUT it does not load my config which is a seperate cfg file in wolfcam ql (not appdata) and in autoexec I also have /exec preset .
3. If I go in game after the appdata wipe, and then console: /exec preset, it loads the config, but not all of it, there are some errors and only a tiny bit is properly loaded.
4. Next time I open wolfcam after all of above ^^, it shows me a black screen. I can hear sounds etc. when moving over the menu, but can't see anything
5. Delete wolfcamql in appdata = works again, but this goes in a loop

This is one of the most common issues people have when starting to use Wolfcam, and it's one of the strongest points in my guide on the QL forums: set fs_homePath and fs_basePath to where you installed Wolfcam. Do not leave them at their default values.

If the problem does still persist, try wiping your config (just rename or move the files so they don't load). If that fixes the problem, either root through your config to find the setting that is causing issues, or start a new one from scratch (honestly not as difficult as you might think). If it isn't solved, however, then you might want to look into a completely fresh install, even if it's a secondary installation just for testing.

If none of this fixes the problem (it will), then wait for an update, as there's nothing you can do.

1. Tried the fs_homePath etc. from your website with batch file etc. don't worry I'm not making any nub mistakes :P
2. Ok so, forgot to mention it but I am actually using the pre-made config from your site.
3. So, wipe appdata + run = fine
4. After wipe appdata + premade config + run = black screen (everything but no graphical interface)
5. Wipe appdata again and it seems to work
6. To help anyone so kindly helping me (thanks all of you!), here is the pastebin of the logs (stderror.txt) before and after your pre made config, perhaps because its your config, you can figure it out easier (as I rooted through the config BUT can't find the problem myself.

If it's writing to, reading from, or even looking in appdata, then you've set fs_homePath and/or fs_basePath incorrectly. They cannot be set via config only; they need to be set via command-line, either in the shortcut or a batch file. These cvars are read-only and as such need to be set before the game even starts up, hence command-line.

Your problem, for some reason, seems to be to do with appdata. If it's not because it's writing something there that is wrong (it will just write it to your new directory once a home path is set, re-creating the error), then changing your home path should fix it.

Why are your base and home paths different? First of all, they should be the same, unless you know what you're doing (which, no offense, you don't). Second, they should be set to wherever the mod is installed at (C:\wolfcamql, for example).

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the home path is where everything is written to and read from - mods are installed here, configs are loaded from here (via the mod folder, which is here), and output is also written to here (again, via the mod folder). The base path is basically where baseq3 is.

So in summation: keep those values the same, and keep them set to your installation directory.

P.S. the actual error you got was because the dlls failed to load I think.

I fixed the bat with your solution and set th both to the installation directory, but now, same as before, black screen and shader issue after I add the config. From what I can gather I am pretty sure it's something in the config :P it's the same as your premade one on the website, could you take a look and are anything that might be causing GUI or shader problems? Basically bat works, but problem not to do with bat (I think)

It's naught to do with my config, it's the same as what I'm using.

I guess try this? It's exactly what I'm using currently. q3config is read-only, so this is literally the only config that's loaded and also has content. (this is my batch to start the game)

I have had the, "shader has no lightmap" issue or w/e it was before, but I forget what it was exactly. I did find a fix, but because everything works for me I can't easily find out what your issue is.

Hah, I actually just found (one of) the issue(s). I started the game with 512 hunkmegs, and everything was fine, but when I raised it to 1024, the vm_create w/e issue appeared. For that one, lower hunkmegs. I don't know why. It might also be the cause of the other issue though.

Ok, well I tried it and no VUI error or anything but the black screen. Pretty sure its the shader has no light map issue, lol unfortunate that you forgot the fiix xD

Go back to wherever it was that shit worked, and find the issue from there. Config or pk3s or w/e.

Well you see before I use the config of yours, there is no mention of the shader errors and stuff, so what I think might be happening is the config may be asking somethimg of the engine that I don't have installed or my GPU doesn't support which leads to the black screen?

So try with no config and rebuild your own, making sure everything works along the way. That's the only solution.

Some LONG solutions, but I guess I'll try :D, also you know your pre made config, does it include things like high fx rocket trails and rail trails and the high effects stuff I've seen before in general.

All that stuff is in the scripts folder, needs to be set via cg_fxFile. I don't have that set.
