I dont really mind this troll stuff honestly...but when you actually look at sponge and syncerrors elos, you wonder how they think they were in a position to decide what was best for people. That 6 LG dmg is totally ok...the only thing they did wrong was only changing the dmg, but not fixing the pushback to what it had when it was on 7 dmg...

I might be totally wrong now that they decided this on there own, but I've never seen any post about them talking to pros and ask them out or whatever...to me it looks like that two lowelo badies decide total random stuff. Even though i like the lg nerf...some things are still missing.
Like the bug that you sometimes hear item pickups (but you didnt actually pick it up)...espicially if you die on/at the item...gives you bad hopes/predictions for a moment...or even for the entire game if you dont check it properly exactly after u died.
Or the retarded 2x pickup which blasts your headphones into the sky....theres so many bugs which can be fixed in moments...

HMG doesnt seem to be a bad weapon to me, it looks okay overall, but thats not what QL needs now, or ever...rather come up with something intresting and NEW, and not just a stronger MG, lol. Rather give the normal MG two fire-modes and rework that weapon or whatever...but the hmg only in itself...has no reason to be there.

But welp, seeing two people decide whats good or not, while they dont even play the game much...hurts quite a bit. (IF they dont ask pros or others...which i assume, as ive never heard anything about that...otherwise, forget about what i said :p)

Like a lot of development programs for all kinds of companies not just gaming ones, it's well known by now that QL has a Focus group.
They even opened up application for it to all subscribers when they wanted the stand-alone .exe tested.

They have been talking to pros as well, plenty. Though their aim is clearly to increase retention of new players, and make it a better experience for them all round, they have not wanted to damage pro duel.

Both typical and and atypical arguments were raised on the changes made.

Focus members can only say they think x is bad because y and it is better to do z.

They cannot ensure that any particular change is made or not. It's not a design committee, even though I often wish it was.

design committee are very often a disaster. You need one ruler, and hope he's good.

I think there are degrees between total autocracy and complete design by committee though.

I wish QL was closer to the committee side of the spectrum.

If they don't expand the game it's going to end up being like QuakeWorld and Quake 2 in a couple years. Just really small user bases.

If anything quakelive expanded the game a few years longer then what quake 3 probably would of gotten otherwise.

It has small base even now...it can only get worse. And I believe Steam wont help much...outdated engine, bad GUI, no proper skillmatching, no proper anticheat, no proper tutorials, no proper tiers, etc etc...I really hope QL2.0 will have all of this I mentioned...and even more. :)

CS-Go uses the source engine, but I believe it's an updated version of it from CS-source.

In fact tech 5 is Zenimax only (which would likely be extended to tech 6).

I think you can still do this for tech 1-2-3 and maybe 4, but it would be a strange decision as those are very outdated at this point.

This organisation would have been a good idea for "user" feedback. (even if this were not the case.) How constructive and credible I am not sure, to the hardliners who don't want change from their accustomed mode.

I say that ^^, as I watched the first of those youtube viewpoints re QL what others are saying, and one of the guys, said Q4 sucked, (however he had some other constructive info) but was obviously bread on Q3 and UT, so the speed and dynamics of the game to Q4 was not good for him, nor the change, getting stuck in their game style. However Q4 was an excellent game, where duels were not like QL 2-1 or 5-4, they were more like 15-20 at top level each game. (Unless there was someone just plus backing for a reduction for score.) This for me was an excellent game, just the slide got a bit screwy. Shame there wasn't some "user feedback system" to guide things better.

Yes and I am sure compromised many things to do so in the process. Glad its still going, as I do see it working itself out, if they are able to continue the funding. Hope steam launch is successful, with the effort they have put in so far.
