ESR - CPU heatsink/fan suggestions?

I'm currently running an AMD 5600k APU with the stock cooller but it seems to be running really hot all the time. I think these APU's do generally run quite warm but this seems too high, talking 75-80c. If I play CS:GO and some other newer (sort of) games it can run them fine but will sometimes freeze and lock up the system which I'm presuming is due to heat. So I'm looking for a really good heatsink/fan to replace the stock cooller around the �20-30 range.

At the moment I've been looking at 2 Cooller Master ones :

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (�25)

Cooler Master Hyper 412S (�30)

Does anyone have any experience with either or have other suggestions?

The CM 212 EVO has the best price/performance ratio, but if I was you I would get something like a Noctua NH-U12S.

The later one is a different kind of animal, it comes with high quality thermal compound that won't dry out after a couple of years, the mounting system is outstanding and the included fan is top quality and almost dead silent. It will be able to handle higher thermal loads, so it can serve you well in future builds (Noctua usually provides free mounting bracket upgrades when a new socket is out).

Edit: If you go with the Noctua, check at their website if your motherboard is compatible.

Some AMD mainboards violate the 96x114mm keep-out zone specified by AMD, so the NH-U12S can only be used with RAM modules of up to 40mm height on these boards. Please consult our compatibility list for details.

He's running an APU, I think getting a Noctua is over-kill. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is more than good enough for a chip like that.

I was just suggesting an higher quality better performing and quieter product (the 212 and U12S are both 120mm single tower coolers) with some room for future upgrades as well as outstanding customer support and warranty, which can be very important to some people.

The 5600K is a 100w part and a little better cooler can help to achieve a better oc if OP wants to extract some more performance out of that chip.

Nevertheless if OP is on a really tight budget he should get the 212 because it has, as I said, the best price/performance ratio.
