with 4670k you may also use the better quality quicksync(than 3570k has) which offloads all the video encoding from CPU so that whole stream takes like 5% of your CPU. Although for QL you always may use spare CPU cores for that and encode with CPU.

QuickSync is intels onboard solution for encoding video. It was never designed for streaming and was mostly designed to offload your system while encoding videos.

Kinda the sameway nvidia does with their own solution, just worse.

I stream with obs on my 2600k @ 4.4ghz at 250fps without any framedrops. I use quicksync but it really butchers movement in motion.
I had to downscale the resolution to 720p from 1080p to get rid of framerate drops.
Shadowplay will hopefully allow desktop streaming one day and this issue will be resolved.

i meant the stream quality, quick sync has a tendency to blur motion in footage ( for the viewers)

3930k+GTX590 = 1080p@60fps with slight fps drop(10frames tops)
Swapped gfx with 780@1GHz SLI = no drops what so ever.

Conclusion: with obs gfx has an impact on stability when it comes to frames.

With xsplit 1080p@60 is impossible.

i think zoot changed from xsplit, not sure, but he did use it for sure, and i need a good graphics card now, as the intel i5 4670k is good enough? (for £170), so the graphics card, what shall i look for? whodares said nividia i think it was :D

The i5-4670k is plenty good for anything you want to do, trust me.

Go with NVIDIA unless you're trying to save money. Radeon drivers are much more likely to have incompatibilities and the GUI's are just not as nice as NVIDIA's. Get a card on the high end of whatever series you can afford, e.g. 550-590 or 650-690, etc.

The GTX 650 Ti's are quite affordable now at around $150. Of course, if you can afford it you can get a really high end card like the guy above to ensure you won't get any FPS drops in new games at 1080p + 60fps.

Edit: Just to note, I've streamed QL at 480p + 60fps with an i5-4670k and an NVIDIA 9600GT, so it doesn't take much.

Are you using Game Capture as your source? I'm not an OBS expert but if not then that's probably why.

If streams captured 250 fps, the file size would be in the terabytes for a few minutes of gameplay.

You set your broadcasting program to send 60 fps and you monitor it to make sure it doesn't drop frames.

GTX 750 Ti should be fine. Good card, low power usage, and under your budget. I don't know about Radeon cards.

That will be fine, i can actually stream while playing fine on 540p 40fps with i5 3570k @ 4.1ghz (and geforce gtx 660 2gb) when Quick Sync is enabled. You could overclock more to 4.4ghz very easy but I only have 2 case fans, missing fan, and my cpu cooler was really cheap. You do need to enable quick sync though because you can't play without it unless you have hyperthreading or don't care about massive input lag and fps drops (and even then I would use quick sync and just stream at higher resolution). Personally I'm sticking with my setup until the end of the year and then maybe upgrade to haswell. I would actually go with an ATi graphics card nowadays instead because they have marginally less input lag on the newer drivers than nvidia. i'd probly recommend a decent ati 280x atm
